Hi guys, im brewing a Porter for the coming cold days and holydays, but i can´t find Brown Malt and i don´t wanna roast my own in the oven, so i thought that i could use Victory Malt (Briess).

Here is the recipe. Anyone has experience with Victory Malt?, and what are your thoughts !

Pale Malt Maris Otter: 73%
Caramel Malt 60: 12%
Victory Malt: 8%
Chocolate Malt: 6%
Black Patent Malt: 1.6%

Fuggle Hops for bitter and Flavor

Fermentis S04 in the yeast department.

BeerSmith estimates :

OG: 1.051
IBU: 26
Color: 28 SRM
ABV 4.9 %

I really like Victory. I've used it in a 1:4 to 1:5 ratio with MO in bitters, stouts, and even a Belgian dubbel. At 8% I don't know how much you'd taste it, though.
