anyone use straight tap water for brewing and topping off? specifically anyone use St. Louis tap water? I am reading Miller's brew book and he states it is low in chlor. and overall pretty good water.

anyone in STL use the tap?

thanks:tank:

I asked this question when I started. The general consensus was if you're doing extract brews and your tap water is drinkable, then you can brew with it. I filter my drinking water through a PUR filter to improve the taste, but don't bother when brewing since it would probably take 4 hours to filter that much water through a pitcher filter, and my brews turn out fine. If you're really paranoid you can pre-boil your tap water....

thanks guys!
