Hello,
I'm going to be brewing a Cascadian (Black) IPA with a gravity around 9%. I've typically used dry yeast, even for beers 8%+ but I want to try Hornindal Kviek liquid yeast. How many packs should I use for 5 gallons? If I could get some tips on how to keep the yeast happy throughout fermentation, it would be appreciated. More yeast nutrient? When to add more yeast nutrient? I don't have a way to aerate, other than the transfer process from kettle to fermenter. I use gravity to transfer over which creates very nice thick bubbles and foam.
Thanks!

1 Pack without a starter is already plenty of yeast. Theoretically, one tablespoon of yeast slurry would be enough for kveiks.

These yeasts are different kinds of beasts!

Be prepared for having it finished in a few days.

No yeast nutrient necessary. Skip it, it might ruin the taste.

Pitch at the upper end of the temperature range, I think it is 37c, wrap the fermenter into blankets or a sleeping bag and that's it.
