Hi. Upon reviving my learnings on near eastern history it came to my mind that in ancient Egypt the earliest beer was produced from Backed bread. I'm not attempting this, has already tried brewing ancient beer it was awful. However has anyone tried backing malt in cakes with or without the addition of other ingredients, and then afterwards crush these and add to mash? I imagine it could add a very roasted flavour? This is probably a total far out question anyway
