I run a very small little homebrew blog, but I love to create userful little programs, calculators, etc.

I am well aware that if you are persistent enough, you can find anything under the sun. However, I'd like to make a few online tools of my own, just for the heck of it.

For instance, I am considering doing something along the lines of the mrmalty yeast pitching calculator, except without the reliance on flash (that a lot of mobile devices can't use).

What are some other little utilities that you might like to see?

I've looked and can't seem to find a site that allows me to search recipes based on what is in them. For example, I have columbus, nugget and willamette hops I had purchased in bulk along with plenty of pale base malts. I want to brew some type of pale ale to india pale ale. It would be nice to find a recipe that used what I already have so I would only have to order the yeast and specialty malts.

That's a cool idea. I'm planning to organize my recipe section via database, where every ingedient has its own child record tied to that recipe. By doing that, the ingredients would be searchable... I could definitely accomplish what you are looking for.

Of course, a big caveat is that my site is a small little blog right now... I'd have to start recruiting people to add recipes. :)

I'd like to see a recipe builer program that lists exact re-hopped extracts as well as plain. Like the usual Munton's,Cooper's,etc. Their different styles I mean.

Awesome input! This is what I was hoping for when I first posted... I had given up on the thread.

Badhabit - what items would you like to see on such a form? What haven't you liked about the ones you have seen? I'm guessing that a nice, printable PDF would be a good thing?

Unionrdr - I had never thought of a recipe builder. I love creating things, so I may have to look at what that might entail.

From what I've seen so far,the usual recipe builders don't cover all the extracts very well. So I have to go on experience & my own zen thing. It'd be nice to use a prgram to get some specifics. Especially for a competition.

I follow what you mean.
