I recently bought a used 5 gal carboy off of craigslist. I didn't notice until I was home that inside of it at the bottom, there appears to be what looks like rust. It's just a small spot, but I couldn't remove it with a strong cleaner/degreaser. Maybe it's a stain left behind from storing pennies in it? If I can't remove it with a carboy brush, will it still be ok to use if I sanitize it?

You can see the small brown spot in the pics. The purple liquid is the cleaner.

Load it up with hot water and oxyclean, let it rest for a day and scrub with the brush. After that you should be ok with whatever is in there.

Didn't have oxyclean so I used bleach and some brewer's edge cleanser and let it soak for a day. That took care of it. Thanks.
