Hi, I'm about 20 min into my boils and I am worried about my yeast. I have White labs WLP002 English Ale. The yeast has been out of the fridge for 5hrs and is very sludgy! See pic. I shake it hard and it doesn't seem to want to re-suspend. The date on it is July 2014 so should be good.

Any ideas? Should I just pitch and everything will be ok? I normally use smack packs, so first time with white labs vials.

Thanks!

you're fine. You should have the yeast at room temp for a while before pitching anyways.

Ok, thanks. I am making 10 gallons and fermenting 5 with the WLP002 and 5 with the San Diego super WLP090. The San Diego is super fluid and mixed well. As I said first time with the white labs. Thanks for the quick reply!

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the help. First time brewing with an English ale strain also.

Really looking forward to how the beer will taste differently using the different yeasts. Making an America. IPA
