Hi all.
I recently got a loaner kettle that is a converted keg, and I am planning on stepping up to ten gal AG batches. I didn't see any posts on this type of questions, so here goes, when I brew ten gallon AG batches, can I just double 5 gallon recipes or are we talking non-linear relationships here? Thanks for attempting to fill my empty head :drunk:

Oh Yeah. Forget sometimes that not everyone is doing full boils. lol

If you were doing partials before, then use teh scaling features of the above mentioned software.

From my own personal experience, you may essentially double it, however it will require some minimal tweaking. All breweries are unique, and it may take some time until you are able to really nail your target gravity by expanding to 10 gal batches.
The upside to it is, I use virtually the same amount of fuel to make 5 or 10 gallons.

I would use promash to figure out exactly what you need to do differently. There will be alot more wort and thus more hop utilization. be careful but dont worry about it. AND, it will take alot longer to get 12.5 gallons to a boil. keep that in mind when planning your brew day.

Cool. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. My buddy also lent me the cajun cooker burner so it is essentially a whole set up for outside! I just gotta get my bazooka screen to fit in there and maybe a threaded to barbed nipple reducer to hook up my ti temp hose and I'm good to go. Problem is I've been so darn busy with other "jobs" around the house in preparation for the upcoming summer party. Uggg must use new equipment....
