So i got my stir plate wired up correctly i believe. i go from power into switch into rheostat and then fan...

For some reason though the fan only works when the rheostat is on max power...any ideas?

which prongs on the rheostat did you connect the wires to?
The 2 on the left make speed increase when the knob is turned to the right
The 2 on the right make the speed increase when the knob is turned to the left

I have it on the two on the left, but that is not the issue, the rheostat when turned to decrease the speed shuts the fan off completly

So i figured it out, my old cell phone charger was only 4 volts and the fan needed at least 6, right now i have it hooked up to a 9 volt, but i heard that might be too much... Should i hook up another rheostat or something or is it ok you think...

And for whatever reason my light on the switch isn't working, but thats not a big deal at all
