Ive brewed a few stouts and its about time i brewed a lighter beer again.
I have it all in beersmith so the changes are easy.
I'm thinking of taking my mouteka hop smash made with gladfields ale malt and making some adjustments. Probably shift some hops a little later and maybe add some toffee malt or a crystal malt. Its about 32IBU in the exsisting recipe so an easy drinker but i want to get a little more from the hops later and thought i might try a simple addition for more flavour.
Probably only one extra grain like toffee so i can see its effect on the recapie as im still learning the different malts and their effects.
Not quit sure what a good starting point would be for the amount of toffee or a crystal malt would be. Its setup as a 23L resulting beer batch but i will scale down to a batch with 19L of beer when i brew.
The recipe has 5.5KG of ale malt and about 5.3%ABV.
I cleaned the hoses and plate chiller today do its all set for later in the week when i settle on a recipe.
