I believe Turbinado sugar is a halfway point between refined table sugar and raw sugar. It has some molasses left in it gives it a tan color, but the real question is how much is left in there. I think it is more refined than raw and so I'd say it is closer to table sugar than raw sugar. How close? I don't know. Experiments and results are the best way to figure out. I would take an equal amount of table sugar as Turbinado sugar and mix them into two equal volumes of water until the solution is homogenous. Then, measure the gravities and see if there is a difference in that aspect.
