Trying to kick a keg of Apfelwein, Will I be hungover in the morning?

So all my kegs are in use and I have a batch of blonde ale that needs to get kegged. So I'm doing what every good homebrewer would and am attacking a keg of apfelwein. I'm hoping it starts spitting foam soon, I'm on pint 4 but there may still be a couple in there. I'm just worried I'm going to feel like crap tomorrow. Good thing I'm off for President's Day.

So my experience w/ AW is that 4 pints will produce a mild headache and maybe a bit of dry mouth if I don't drink some water. So, stay hydrated and quit either way at six. And remember that its about enjoyment and your beer can wait another day to keg.

Bottle from the keg using the BMBF. Or dump it. Or burst carb it - I can get one to decent carb in 2-3 days that way.

i cannot, in good conscience, encourage getting stoopid on AW - it hurts.

I've been chugging a glass of water between pints so that should help. And I'll launch a preemptive strike and take a couple advil before crashing!

On a side note get a pair of these and some two liter bottles and you should never have to worry about kicking the last of a keg again.

You are going to HURT tomorrow. I had 3 12oz bottles one night and woke up with such a sour stomach it took 3 Sausage Croissan'wiches from Burger King to make my stomach forget it....

I would recommend drinking enough water that you feel sick from THAT, to stand a chance at not feeling sick from the AW, which I guarantee you is worse...

This stuff is closer to wine than beer... would you drink five PINTS of wine????

Here's mine. I used to keep the C02 bottle inside but now that I've got a collar and a beer gas canister it's being moved to the outside. So I can fit 5 kegs in there. Notice I have 6 shanks. That's because at some point I may want to have 2 stouts going at once, or 4 CO2 beers at once.

I'm actually not feeling very drunk at all. But I was really hoping that keg would kick when I was pouring pint 5.

Damn, just poured a 6th pint and it's still not done. This will be my last for tonight. It's weird, I don't feel drunk but my head is spinning a bit. Apfelwein is strange in it's intoxicating properties.

Reminds me... I've got 6 kegs of super dry apfelwein/ graff (6-12 months old) I need to backsweeten...

you know, you could have just unhooked the gas line from the apfelwein, remove the keg and put the blonde ale in and hook it up to gas. The apfelwein keg would stay carbed even as it warmed up if you didn't have room to leave it in the keezer.

The apfelwein was the closest to being empty. I ended up just dumping the rest just now. There was probably another 2-3 pints. My wife says it gives her a headache and I don't love it so much I wanted to take the time to bmbf the little that remained.
