While I love the original the remake is a better film, discuss.
.....Hailee Steinfeld just stole the movie as Mattie.
as far as i'm concerned the coen brothers can make any and all westerns from here on out. I love westerns, and they never pull any punches with theirs, which is how westerns should be imo. Loved the new true grit.
I just watched Unforgiven about 2 weeks ago for the first time in a long time. That is a first class movie, definitely up there with the best movies ever made.
Absolutely! This is probably my favorite movie ever!
I've seen them both & I have to say I think the remake is a little "grittier."![]()
Before I saw the remake, I didn't think Jeff Bridges would be able to pull it off; but he made a believable Rooster Cogburn...
More believable than Kevin Costner as Robin Hood.

For example...in the remake there's a scene where the older character asks the girl for his tobacco. She takes the initiative of rolling him a cigarette. That shows a certain level of prowess that is absent in the original. In the original he just asks for a cup of coffee/tea and she pours him one.
