Very new to this. Inherited a kegerator and it needed some maintenance when the tower broke. The hole itself was 2 1/2”, as is the new tower I bought. However the new tower has a slightly wider base than the old one which broke, meaning the grill holes are very close but do not entirely line up. Upon taking the plastic top piece off of the kegerator itself, there seems to be a circular block of wood glued into the center hole itself to sort of raise it up from the top of the fridge towards the base of the plastic top. If I could remove this piece I could drill new holes and get my new tower in, but I am unclear on how to do this without breaking the block of wood and messing up the kegerator itself beyond repair. Help!
