I'm itching to brew up a bad a$$ imperial stout, but we're looking to move house asap. I'm worried about being half way through fermentation and having to move my fermenter.
I'd have to put it into my car and drive to the new home and put it back in the bathtub :)
How much damage would I cause?

(that's if I ever find a new house)

By move, you mean buy a new house? I would think by the time you find something, sell your house and close on the new one it could be months. If you brew now, you can have it bottled up or kegged before you leave. Unless you were thinking of leaving it in the fermenter for many months, which some people do.
