So we're going away this weekend and I'd like to bring some of by brew. I've been force carbing my latest batch. Newbie question: once carbinated can I keep it in a 1 gallon carboy or will the pressure make it explode? I do have bottles groesch style and figure I can bottle it. We have quite a long drive so dont think it will stay cool.

Guess regardless of traveling or not after force carbing (I do it in a 2 liter bottle) can I then put the carbed beer in glass bottles? figured I could but also worried about bottle bombs.

Beer Bottles & Growlers are designed for "normal" CO2 pressure of 2 to 3 volumes and with the appropriate cap will not be a problem unless your ferment is not complete.

Transporting after carbing isn't an issue, that's why bottling was invented

I'm not sure why you would want to carb a carboy, however I would recommend the bottles you have.

And are you asking if you can then move carbed beer from a carboy to glass bottles ? Or from a keg?

If from keg to bottles, yes, however you may need a beer gun

great thanks. nope im force carbing in 2 liter soda bottles. after that will be draining it into the 1 gallon carboy for the trip.
