Translate Electrical to English? Illum Push Button Switch

Can anyone help translate the electrical drawing on this illuminated push-button switch to English?

I've already fried one of them and now that the replacement has arrived I'd like to make sure I wire it correctly.

I currently have two black wires twisted together in a wirenut -this completes the circuit to my main on contactor (120v coil, 240 v 30 amp); effectively I just need this switch to close the connection between these two wires in a "typical" normally "open" / off except when I push the button in to the on position configuration.

1st Let's focus on how to wire the switch just to turn the contactor on; then once that works let's then and only then cover how to illuminate the LED when the button is pushed down to the "on" position.

My best guess from that diagram is that I need to connect my black 120v line to the left-most "+" pole and the "NO1" pole to make the switch actually work -I'm going to go play with my multimeter on it's continuity setting to verify that this seems to work.



My guess is that to illuminate the light I'd then jumper a wire from "NO1" to "-"?...

My PJ electrical diagram for my box is here but I couldn't get anyone to modify it for me so mine is actually slightly different. How many posts are on the bottom? + and - should be to illuminate your light. So you would need a neutral coming off the - post depending on your configuration. Your power in looks like it should hook to c1 and the wire going to power your contactor will come off of no1. You will jumper a wire from no1 to + as well to give you power only when the switch is pressed to illuminate the light. Make sense?
 
So this will say the same thing as milesvdustin... just with more words.

If you're trying to wire it such that the light turns on when you push the button, and it also turns on your contactor (or whatever device you're trying to switch) at the same time... you'd want the following:

Black wire (120V supply) to C1
White wire (Neutral supply) to -
Black wire (switched 120v) from NO1 to + and a second wire from NO1 to whatever it is you're trying to power (contactor?)

This way, when the switch is off, you have 120v to C1 and neutral to -
When you push in the switch, NO1 closes, and flows 12V to + (turns on the LED ring) and also to whatever you're powering.

One thing to note - the device is rated at 3A - make sure whatever you're trying to power is drawing less than that, or you'll burn out the switch no matter how well you write it.

It is kind of difficult to see the terminal layout on the diagram posted on Auber Instruments.
I did a little editing on the image to see if it could be a little clearer in setting it up.

Thanks folks! I taught myself how to wire simple home electrical stuff a few years ago, then over Christmas I had some help translating PJ-style electrical diagrams to an actual implementation over Christmas.

I've had no issues figuring out separate switch and light pairs but the illuminated switches for some reason make me fall off of the mental gymnastics uneven bars when I'm lucky, or face-plant and burn something up when I'm unlucky.

Well, let us know if you have managed to secure your doubts and make this work. You have three opinions on how to fix it, all of them the same, which is likely a first on HBT. You should be set.
 
Auber emailed me with a PDF detailing exactly the solution that everyone here came up with so I'm very confident on this one.
