Ok, these pics look amazing. I just completed my first trade last week and it went mostly well. I received 4 outta 5 bottles....the 5th one was all over my porch by the time I got home.

So what's the secret with packaging and delivery? Are there special beer boxes and/or containers?

We belong to some wine clubs and have received unharmed shipments for years because of the wine packaging.

Would appreciate any insight. Thx.

Wine shippers are the key lol. Wrapping tightly in bubble wrap is the best practice...but the most important thing is to make sure those bottles are packed in tight. Most damage is done from bottles hitting each other in transit, not so much as exterior influence

Someone in CA should be unpacking a box of beer and food...

Yours have passed into MT and hopefully headed back in your direction now. Still showing delivery for tomorrow

Wine shippers are great if you sending a lot of 750ml or bombers but a bit of overkill for cans or 12oz bottles. I wrap them generously in bubble-wrap and then put them inside 1 or 2 gallon ziplock bags. Then I put those into boxes that are lined with more bubble-wrap. I then tie a garbage back around that box (just in case something breaks) and that goes into a bigger box with paper or packing pillows to take up any extra space between the boxes. It's overkill, but I've given up going lighter because it costs too much to ship the stuff and have it destroyed in transit.

Judging from some pics I've seen, there can also be significant "exterior influence".

Some folks get pretty creative. Boxes inside boxes. Wrap everything in a taped trash bag to hold in liquid. Obv bubble wrap. Noise makers to camouflage sloshing sounds. I don't think there's really a secret, just assume the worst.

For some reason FedEx runs everything for my part of those state through Billings.

70 miles straight south? That goes to Minneapolis.

Whatever, still faster to most places than those UPS turds...

Sweet, thank you box from thatjonguy!
I'll be enjoying the sausage and lefse with those beers this weekend if I can wait that long.
Thanks again!

I think you'll be surprised at the night shift. Whirlpool needs to be consumed cold and soon. The aroma is off the charts. One of my favorite new upstart breweries here in Massachusetts. Jacks Abby is becoming stalwart, and keep your eyes on Trillium.

Whirlpool is awesome, I'm glad I got the chance to try it and share some with Matt. I might drink one in several seconds...

That is awesome. I never considered a noise maker to get rid of the all to noticeable sloshing sound. Sweet.

You sir, are a madman. And I like it. That's some dedication to beer delivery.:fro:

I'm thrilled to of joined the night shift reserve society. I just read that one of our best wholesalers has a contract to distribute Jacks abbey in philly. Dunking awesome news right there

Dude. Slice the sausage with a little cheese melted over lefse. So awesome.

I also like mine with a thin coating of butter with some sugar sprinkled on top. Roll it up and you have a Norwegian taquito. :ban:

But yes, the sausage with cheese on lefse is delicious.

I also have a second cousin who likes to eat that specific summer sausage on a bun with strawberry jam. :drunk:

People go nuts for that brand, I don't believe it leaves ND; if so, not very far. Often I have seen people bringing several large (28 ounce) sticks with them at the airport.

Maybe I should start shipping summer sausage and lesfe on the side all over the country...

That sounds wonderful! Will have to try that out today!
