Can anyone give some suggestions to what they feel are the best recipe kits (preferably partial mash) from northern brewer. I was going to try a recipe from one of my books I own but was figuring I would maybe try a kit from them? Any suggestions? I like all beer styles. Possibly something I could try dry hopping?

I don't think you'll be disappointed in any of their kits. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I'd look through the catalog and see what jumps out at you. You can view all the recipes (download PDF) on the website if you're interested. Most of the kits have reviews as well.

Haven't tried any, but they have reviews available on their website. Also shows the # of reviews. Might try the Plinian Legacy sometime myself. Also "Jamil's Evil Twin" looks like a good hoppy west coast amber/red ale.

Dead Ringer is one of their more popular kits for a reason. Not a partial mash, but it's really good. Just bottled my second batch of it last weekend. If you like wheat beers, the Tallgrass Halcyon partial mash kit is good too...I messed it up by overcarbing the bottles, but it still tasted good.

I haven't made many of their kits, but of those that I did, the bourbon barrel porter was far and above all the rest. Outstanding beer, period.

Obviously no dry hopping, but at least with the oak and bourbon, you still get to add something to secondary.

Seems like a lot of people like their kits. Not sure I would put much faith in their on-line reviews ......... seems like there are no bad reviews.

They may not have had any bad reviews, but it seems very suspicious to me.

I have purchased a couple of kits off them and had no problems with them. I placed an order with them yesterday for some supplies.
