Brewed a barley wine. Was in primary for 3 weeks. My estimated FG was 1.027. Mine came out to 1.030. Trying to nudge it along a bit more, I sprinkled a packet of dry yeast on top and closed it for a week. Check it today (a week later) and... NOTHING.
You think I should rack it to secondary for bulk aging?
If so, here is the plan: Rack to secondary and age for six months. Then bottle for six more months. Then drink! :rockin:
I don't think this thing is going to budge. I have heard of using champagne yeast but don't really want to do that.
Here are my estimated gravities :
OG 1.106
FG 1.027
Here are my actual gravities:
OG 1.100
FG 1.030
So what do you all think?
