Ok, so I bottled my cider two days ago.. After reading every forum about peoples bottles exploding when trying to carbonate, I am terrified of that happening to me. I have bottled a plastic bottle as well to feel for how much carb production there has been. It feels very tight like a coke.. Does anyone know about how much time I should wait before I cold crash?

Also, I have read many different places that it could sometimes only three days?? True or false??

It could be, depending on how vigorous your yeast is and at what temperature your bottles are at while being primed. You should be testing you bottles to see how carbonated they are as time passes. Note that everyone has their own preference for the amount of carbonation they require in their Cider. I usually prime mine up to a week, but it is truly up to you. Try a bottle! You can always re-seal it.

If your plastic bottle is already as hard as a coke, and it's only been 2 day you NEED to cold crash you bottles or I think you have a real good chance of explodie time.

I always use one plastic bottle to gauge carbonation levels and it takes me about 7-10 days to get the plastic bottle to be firm to press.

This should be a joyous time ... not a fearful time.
I assume you used 12oz bottles? Every few days, get a glass, kick back and open one of your bottles and do a bit of "quality control" on your carbonation.

The plastic bottle test is helpful but most definitely not the sole indicator. Often, what feels fairly hard in the plastic can be not even near the carbonation you are actually shooting for. Different ferments take different amounts of time depending on various factors. Somewheres between 4 and 20 days (yeah, I know that's not very helpful).
You really need to open a bottle periodically and see what it's like. Yer lookin for a healthy amount of carbonation but not a geyser that foams up out of the bottle. You'll know when it's right.

Thanks for all the comments.. I did use 12oz bottles. I went ahead and cracked the plastic bottle.. It is def not ready yet but the cider was crystal clear and delicious. I will try it in another three or four days and check it out. I will keep all updated. Thanks again.
