Ok, recapping the hints:

Heavily reliant on adjuncts (one grain and two non-grains). Rye is not one of them.
Not an IPA (or any of its variants)
It is an ale
American-made, but not East Coast
New take on an old style

New hint: this is stronger than what most of us would consider a session-strength beer.
 
You're on the right track, but not quite there.

The color in the pic is accurate, but not at all typical of the style. One of the key ingredients of the style has not been included in this beer, hence the adjuncts.
 
Awesome! That was tough. But also, I want to go out and buy one of those now.

Okay, here's mine. Two hints to get started: It's a seasonal release, and it's definitely not a stout!
