I plan to tilt the kegs in my standup fridge kind of like this:

Sorry, Have no better schematic.

I can fit more kegs that way than by standing them upright on the bottom, and having a shelf midway.

They willl overlap(unlike the visual above), meaning that the second layer of kegs starts 3/4 of the way up the first layer, tilted forward at 65 degrees or so.

Anyone see any problems?

Won't you lose a beer or two at the end of each keg? The dimple for the diptube will be in the center, which depending on the angle will miss a certain volume of beer. On the plus side you wouldn't have sediment in the first glass.

Yeah, I took the sediment angle to be a plus, and I will probably draw off the last glass or 2 when I take the keg out. (cloudy or not)

I didn't think the angle would inhibit anything other than the last dregs being inaccessable, but I thought I would check here to see if anyone else has done this or decided not to for some reason.

I recently have been using my keg on its side and all I had to was twist the dip tube inside. In your case you can twist it a bit to the out side. You can also cut it if you need to but that is more permanent. But dip tubes are not very expensive.

Make sure you have check valves on the co2 side, or be careful in not filling the kegs too full or you may get beer in the lines.

i agree, bend the tube a little for better pickup. and make sure that they sit with the gas port pointing up!

hey, your kegerizer-er is going to be like my kayak.

I prefer it dry side UP.

you're going to need to still be able to get that bent tube out of the keg once in a while. so either make it a gradual curve (with no kinks), or cut off a few inches, and make the bend with a plastic tip type thing.

I also have one corny with the diptube on the circumference, not in the center, so just do what works.

:mug: I appreciate the tip!

And I prefer my brews NOT like sex in a kayak.;)

Had some thoughts, just thought I would list them:
  • Your beers will carb slightly faster, due to additional surface area on the headspace.
  • Unlike the guys above, I don't think having the CO2 side up is vital, so long as you are careful to never let the pressure drop on the secondary. It is probably a good practice though.
  • I am not sure how you are supporting them, but make sure that you can get a full keg in and out easy enough. I can picture it being a bit of a pain, but not so much if done right.
  • Make sure the pressure relief valve isn't submerged. You need it!
  • Make sure to report back on whether it works!

I am thinking to support them with a structure of 2x4's in the fridge.

It will be a pain to get the top ones in, filled, but I think it is do-able. I am thinking that a hand operated pulley system will help alot(just in front of the fridge, not in it). Then I will just swing them in place. It is a side by side, so I can use top to botton, no freezer on top.

Thanks for your thoughts on this! Good points all.

As to the little bit left when the keg runs dry (due to the angle)...

...don't ever let anyone convince you drinking right out of the keg is uncouth.

That's why the opening is so big!

:rockin:

this would work great with pin locks . The few I have left the dip tube is against the side and the bottom has a concave on the side of the base not the center.

I'm sure you got it, but "pretty phucqueing close to water" is sex in a kayak and fizzy yellow beer.

Roger that on "hunan hand" becoming Hunan Penis.

Get SWMBO involved before full realization and......well you get the idea!!!;)

I guess there is only so much to say about the OP until I get off my ass and do it!

It will be a couple of months it sounds like.

I have the fridge and lumber, but I lack the kegs, lines etc.
