This morning I started my brew. I started the pot to heat, put in the steeping grains, when it got up to temp. Measured out the hops and got them in order according when they need to be added. After that I went to get the DME and realized I was 2lbs. short. AARGGH.

I did a quick problem solving thing and decided I would just continue with the boil as planned, because the LHBS would open before the end of my boil. I am having my wife watch the pot while I run up to get the DME I need. Good thing this recipe calls for a late addition of DME. The boil may be a little longer than planned but it will all work out.

Support your LHBS. You may need them sometime. Thankfully I have a very good one only about a mile and a half from my house.:mug:

Sorry for thr typo in the title.

Totally agree!!! I love the Internet but nothing can replace my LHBS. I buy everything I can there to make sure they stay around.

I support him fully. Even if I have to pay slightly more, just for the reason of keeping him around. Saved my brew day today.

Luckily it is a very good shop that is well stocked and moves a lot of product so it is usually very fresh.

Yeast has been pitched and everything cleaned up. Brew day saved. Boil ended up being 10 minutes longer, but no big deal. Hops addition for the last 20 minutes remained the same. I may just have a brew with lunch to celebrate the quick thinking on my part and to my LHBS for being there.
