Looks good, but it's really not a definitive answer until you chill it. It should clear up nice with enough time in the fridge. Even so, as long as it tastes good, it doesn't matter how it looks :mug:

awesome ..this is my first brew so its kind of rewarding to know that i made it...cant wait until its actually carbonated

it taste like beer haha.. no all joking aside it tastes surprisingly good knowing that i prob was not too sanitery

in that case, it must be good. cheers!!!!!

I just made a red ale myself and I'm bottling it this week, I'm excited because it is only my second brew...

It looks good though, nice job on your first :mug:

yeah i just did my second brew and i did a bavarian hefeweizen...and just got finished bottling my red ale...does your red ale look similar to mine

I haven't bottled mine yet but I think mine turned out a little more clear.. I think once you get those into bottles and they carb a bit they will clear up though.

they'll clear up in the refrigerator. there's something called a cold break, where once the beer gets down to a certain temp, the remaining hops, protein, and yeast will get cold enough so it's heavier than the beer, and will settle. if you let it sit in the frig ( after a couple weeks in the normal temp to carb) for a week or so, it'll get really clear

thanks lumpher...do u think i should strain my wort next time to strain out the little pieces of hops?

i strain every beer i brew from the brew kettle into the fermenter, whether it's an ipa, an english bitter, or a hefeweizen ( which should be cloudy )

yeah i think im going to start straining then....thanks and juslod i couldnt wait that long lol...what was it you brewed for your first batch

if you want a damn fine beer that you boil, put in the fermenter for 11 days, then bottle for 5 days, then drink...

6 lbs wheat dme
1 oz hersbrucker hops ( or regular hallertau if hersbrucker not available )
wb-06 dry wheat beer yeast ( no starter needed- just sprinkle on top of the wort )

bottle with 5 oz corn sugar

makes 5 gallons

if you want more specific instructions, let me know

My first beer was a Weizenbier, it turned out really well. 4th of July weekend it will have been the recommended 3 weeks to carb so I'm excited... I already drank about half a case though haha.

It could be better, I made several mistakes and my burner went out mid-boil. I didn't notice until everything stopped boiling and it took about another 30 minutes just to get it BACK to boiling! All in all it tastes good :drunk:

as long as it tastes good..i hoped to have mine ready by the 4th but it doesnt look like its going to happen

well thats because of how close the light is...and the pic is from my phone...it llooks red in person
