I've got a vow renewal coming up and was thinking a light beer that any one will enjoy so I figured a vanilla honey cream ale. This is what I've put together. I haven't made my own batch yet so this is my initial.

4 lbs 12 oz pale malt 2 row us
13.6oz pale malt 6 row us
14.4oz Crystal malt 20L
.69oz cascade 60 min boil
White labs #wlp080
1 lb of local honey in primary
2 1/2 vanilla beans in secondary

Not sure about Temps for my mash though I'm guessing 152F and 165F

Ya I plugged it into beer smith but I was told once that beersmith isn't all that accurate so I'm following it up on here.

Mash seems a little high I would think 148 would suite better to get that light body. Then mash out around 165/168 but I haven't been doing AG very long nor have I created my own recipe yet so I'm sure more seasoned Brewers will be able to help more. Choice of grain bill looks good.

I was just reading that a traditional is just the 6 row and it needs flaked maize also. So I think I might replug and repost again tomorrow.

Yea, you need corn ... Do cream of three as the base. I'd personally just brew the cream of three and call it a day, but if you want fancy vanilla something or other, modify that recipe.

I put my hops so low cause I'm not sure still how strong it will be and most of the people in my family are the miller, bud and coors kinda people.

Just wanted to make sure you know cream ale and cream soda are not related at all. Think bmc for cream ale. If that's what you're shooting for then by all means go for it. I would think a vanilla honey American wheat might be a bit better due to the malt backbone supporting the honey vanilla flavors. Just my two cents.

Lol yaaaa I just finished my second hefe and we don't work so well together. I'm praying it turns out ok. But I hear what your saying. If any one has an idea for what would be a good wedding beer other than this I'm all ears, please advise.
