Well I noticed that my one hops plant that got an early start had been a midnight snack for some ungodly beast and my herbs have also been eaten upon. I figured it was slugs because I have been seeing a few here and there. so we cleaned out some iceplant and I found another sprinkler control valve. The beasts' have been hiding but they cannot get away from me for long. Yesterday I went and got some Sluggo and went to town. Every one of my hops have been sprinkled and so have my herbs. I will not take this lying down. Here is the scene of the crime.

Put out a pie tin full of beer and the slugs will crawl in and drown.

^^ Do that one. Drunk, drowning slugs sounding entertaining.

Had the same problem with snails, in the hops, and the strawberries. My wife went to pick strawberries and would scream murder every time she picked a snail as opposed to a berry. I smashed over 200 snails over the last week. I have no idea where they keep coming from!

i used some slug stuff too. I saw one at night that was 4-5 inches.. Next day I bought some.

Does this organic slug stuff work well?

Should I wait two weeks or do another dose of pelets this next week?

Do a combo of all: sluggo, beer in pie tin, salt border, egg shells around the hops.

I'm an avid gardener and have grown to hate snails with a passion.

Also not sure where you live but buy a chicken and let her roam, they love to eat snails.

The stuff with metal salts is useless, IMO. You gotta poison the slimy bastards with a pesticide containing metaldehyde.
