Summit Kegerator: SBC490-BI. Will not shut off. Just keeps getting colder and colder until total freeze up. Replaced the thermostat twice just in case I had gotten a bad one. (Haier RF-7350-77). Even turned all the way down to lowest setting just keeps freezing up. I have heard that these particular Thermostats require adjustment. #1. do not know how to adjust. #2. seems to me that it should not need adjusting right out of the box.

Anyone ever had this problem and is there anything else I might check?

Moved from Equipment forum to try to get more replies.

With the original and two replacement thermostats malfunctioning, I would look at something else - like probe placement or a pinched wire somewhere between the theromstat and the compressor.

Or just hook it up to an Inkbird temperature controller and call it a day. The Inkbird will shut off power once it hits the target temperature, so it does not matter if the thermostat is running constantly - that is how my fermentor and kegerator are setup. The thermostats are set to max cold and I use the ITC-1000 to set the temperature to within a degree.

I am a proponent for fixing things correctly, but sometimes the easy, cheap, effective way out is the "correct" way. My two cents, anyway, YMMV.
