Worth checking out? Have yet to go myself, no food right?

no food. they have some small snacks in a pinch and sell beef sticks and cheese curds out of a fridge by the bar. that's it, though.

definitely worth a stop. it's a nice space. they've got board games, a couple tv's can be turned on if it's mid-day and quiet. nice beers of their own along with a decent number of guest taps. you can buy bottles & cans to go. they crowler their beer, have full & half growlers also.

and a nice gift shop with a bunch of ****.

the tenders and owners are very cool, prices are right. it's a good time.

they have dropped a handful of limited release beers in the last 2 weeks. the ones i've had have been tasty. probably still have some when you're in town, i'd guess. that said, the Mean Green, Green Chop, Buzzy Badger and Dubious Ruffian are on all the time and are tasty.

it's my go to in town. i don't bother with Titletown or Hinterland. if i want something refreshing and tasty to drink, i'll grab a 4-pack of Green Chop for $9 and be on my way.

Been looking forward to checking out Badger State this summer. furley -- What are your thoughts on Stillmank? I've only had their Perky Porter but thought it was really good. Until I Googled them I had thought they were named StillmaRk though.

so far, not a fan. only the Perky Porter has been good in my opinion.

picked up a couple of their recent barrel aged beers and the first one (rye barrel) was thin, one-dimensional and just not very good.

i haven't gone out of my way to try all their beer but the few i have haven't been too inspiring.

i'd go Badger State all day over Stillmank right now.

That's too bad, but I'm not surprised based on the reviews I've seen of their other beers. It appears they started around the same time as Badger State did too.

Welcome to Talk Beer!
Thanks! Been lurking for a bit and figured it's about time I reset my password so I could log in and contribute.

From the facething:

We are releasing The Kissers' Monday Night Special on Wednesday evening starting at 4:30 pm in the Tasting Room both on tap and in bottles (sorry, no growler fills).

This year, The Kissers' Monday Night Special is our Oatmeal Double Stout aged in bourbon barrels. Lots of dark malt roasty goodness (coffee, chocolate, caramel) with the awesomeness of barrel aging (vanilla, oak, bourbon).

We've been working with our friends, The Kissers(a kick-butt Irish rock band)... the beer will be debuting in the Tasting Room Wednesday night but will be found at The Kissers' performances for the St. Patrick's Holiday.

The band and beer should be found at:

March 5, Brocach Irish Pub on Monroe Street
March 10, Brocach Irish Pub on Capitol Square
March 12, Tyranena Brewing Company
March 14, Malt House
March 17, High Noon Saloon

The beer will also appear on draft and in bottles at select locations in Madison, Milwaukee, Fox Valley and locally (we'll post more on these locations soon).

March 4th. Buddie's birthday.

MarcatGSB i got you fam

The music played in Green Bay is down right disgusting.
Ended up having a meh Reuben at Hagermeister. Bartender was completely useless.
Went to Stillmank, had the double Perky, thought it was solid. Tried a friend's Super Kind thought it had some green apple to it.
Visited the Titletown Tap room where the bartender really gave our DD a hard time about drinking Pepsi, then proceeded to fill their "honest pints" with 20 ounces of Bourbon Barrel Stout and charge me 5 dollars for it.
I'm pooping it all out right now.

I need to work harder at coming up to visit you. We could make beautiful reuben pasties together.

It wasn't even country... It was terrible rap and the 70's/80's hair bands and extreme volumes that got me.

Zwickel came first and is in fact a different beer as far as I know. Someone with closer knowledge would have to explain the recipe differences.

I know Yokel is so damn good.
Carry on.

I suspect that this a better version of that beer. NG unfortunately has a history of brewing beers of similar styles where the subsequent version is inferior to the original. They've gone the other way too, but think of stuff like Back 40 (vs. Uff Da), Hometown Blonde (which is really good) but not as good as Edel Pils. Heck, even Belgian Red was the first of the fruit beers, and it's still the best IMO.

I would really like to get some of the Zwickel, but I don't think I can justify a trip to brewery for it. Maybe someone from MKE will be out there soon and #gopickitupformebro.

will be in Milwaukee Saturday/Sunday

what can i get there that i can't get in Green Bay? not interested in Discount.. been there too many times and walked out empty handed.

I would assume distribution is about the same, so I guess hit up Brenner or some of to other newer MKE breweries. Not really sure.
