Thanks for that! Nothing in particular. Just looking for criticism and/or help from those more talented than me. I've seen your work and if it's good enough for you, I'll keep it as is! :mug:

Yep you have simple and elegant down pat.

So this was another idea that I had that's way less complicated then the grist mill but still bit beyond my limited artistic abilities. Got inspired by a sack of pilsner sitting in my basement. So thinking about a design for my labels similar to the design on sack of Heidelberg Grain. I've included a photo of the grain sack and my poor drawing representing my label. Where the grain sack has a orange circle in the top middle I was thinking of a basic waterwheel graphic (bringing in the mill theme) and then rest of the design tries to adhear to the design/layout on the grain sack. Thinking this would make for a simple yet cool label. If anyone can help me clean up this image I'd really appreciate the assist. Thanks.

This one is definitely doable.

Stupid tablet app double posted

This is exactly what I had in mind!!! Well done. Is there a way to brighten up the colors and make the hops a bit bigger? Awesome work man.

I made some color changes for you. I made the hops more defined. I have to do a little more work on it, but you get the general idea. What shape and size you were looking at for your label?

This is what Ive been working on for you. As you can see at the bottom Ive started outlining everything. If you like it I'll post the finished product for you in another week or two.

Excellent work above by the way.

Sorry zapped70 I didn't know that you were working on this label. I like your design as well.

Perfect!! I was thinking about just doing a standard rectangular label for a 12 oz bottle. I think 4"x5"

I found this simple wine label while searching another site... very simple... similar to something I'd like....

I tried recreating something similar using Inkspot... and failed.. every time I tried to create a rectangle or box, I'd end up moving it or it would flip the wrong way...ha.

I'd like white or off white for the background then a dark brown or dark green for borders... Simple, easy to read font like that one... dark green or dark brown color for the font... or whatever you feel works..

this tree or something like it.. (I'd prefer the tree without the grass below if that works or makes sense)

Important info:

Altex Brewing
Alvin, Tx
space for me to write in or switch out the type of beer each time...
spot for %abv and ounces or oz whichever fits best...

other info that could be used
Brazoria County
Space for the year
Ridgemont Street or St

I actually like the circle that looks like a stamp... pretty cool.

I know this might be pretty boring to make..ha.

How's this

That's pretty on point!

Would it be possible to make the Altex Brewing a bit more boring...like Helvetica or Verdana or Georgia..or some other very straight forward font?

Yes, folks... I am that exciting!

Hey JLINKS. First, thank you for your time! It is much appreciated.

Regarding the black bird design. I like the way the hop is now... great job! I think the grain inside the crest is kinda busy. Is there to a way to make the crest out of grain stalks? So rather than hard lines, the stalks would actually make the crest? I'll draw something up to maybe help with the concept

EDIT: I'm sorry, had my logo's confused and forgot you had a shield. Disregard.

Just JINKS, no L, and how's this with the barley @TheCADJockey posted. I have no real drawing skills but I can cut and paste like a madman.

Oh snap! The first is really a cool concept. I like the second one too. Any way to make the circle a bit thinner?

I like the overall clean, simplicity. Well done JINKS (sorry out the "L" earlier!)

Should be able to be done, I'm not sure how, but I'll look into it.

Smaller a bit

Skinnier again although it is rotating also which I can't seem to stop.

Man, that just screams to be on a coaster! You Sir, are a genious

Holy sh!t!!!!!!!! That is so awesome. Awesome work man. I love it. I dunno if it needs the border but I trust your opinion. When you are satisfied with the final product do you think I could get the illustrator files for this and the crest alone? Again I am so impressed.

Here's the finished product. The only thing that I think it might need is a little bit of a border around the perimeter. Let me know if you want anything changed.

Seckelbrau4x5.png

Awesome work! There's a minor oversight though, I think... 2029 would be 15 years. Shouldn't it be 2039?

Ok, I fixed the year and added a darker edge to the label. I did everything in Photoshop. I'll just zip the folder with all the files including fonts and PM you a link to download them. I'm glad you liked it.

I have been stalking this thread for a while in the hopes that I will be able to eventually make a label. I love the results I have seen so far. Very impressive. I, unfortunately, have no artistic ability whatsoever. I have partially designed a label using Beerlabelizer, but don't really like the layout. There weren't any options which seemed to jump out at me. Maybe someone can help. I don't really know what shape, colors, or fonts I want, so I will leave it to your expert minds. Also, when I get ready to print labels, what do I use? I assume there is special paper? I keg, so I will only be printing a handful for sharing. I might print something to affix to my keezer as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Also, the ABV is not yet known, as the beer is still fermenting, so an option to modify that would be welcomed.

I've got an article that is going live soon on how to add fonts to beer labelizer labels using inkscape, you just save without any info and can do the rest yourself.

Here is a layout option for you to mull over.
Check out the show us you label thread and see if there is something there that strikes your fancy, anyone of us here can duplicate most of what you see to your specifications. As for printing labels: I do a color laser with sticker paper and cut them out, because I like to change labels every time, even on the same kind of beer made at different times.

I like this one. Maybe add brewery as Brew For Keeps. Unfortunately I don't have a logo for my "Brewery. " The beer should be 60 IBU

Everything is malleable Font, Picture etc. Just let me know what you want changed to what and I'll do it.

Not from Skyrim... although I love that game! It's more from Talladega Nights where he says "I play for keeps!" Curious how you related it to Skyrim... perhaps I could incorporate that somehow as well :mug:
