I don't play very many video games anymore, just kid ones with my son, but every time in the walking dead when there is a herd of walkers coming at them and they start unloading clips and taking head shots I get the urge to play call of duty zombies. I used to be hooked on that.

The Walls Come Tumblin' DownNext episode looks like a desperate scramble for safety, Darryl, Abraham and Sasha are surely coming to the rescue but I fully expect that we'll see some casualties.

Enid and Glenn are nearby (within sight) as well.

My first pet peeve is that they have always touted the walls are concrete reinforced, when they are actually structural steel tac welded to floor decking. No concrete involved. Case in point, the blood coming though the wall.

Aside from that , I can see a horde coming though the next episode and a mass panic. Some Alexandrians will die. There is enough ordinace cover to wipe out the intruding walkers, IMO. This will secure Rick's group as Alpha for the city. The wall will be rebuilt. Glen will sneak his way in and make some miraculous save (possiblely for maggie) After all is said and done, all of Alexander will know (via the brutality from Rick and Co, what needs to be done to survive. Old boy helping Rick build the fence even eluded to it.

One thing that stood out to me during Rick and Morgans convo, was that everytime Morgan frowned, his facial expression made a "W" exactly where the others wore theres. Not saying it means anything, but it could mean something.

I already don't like the lil goober kid Rick gave the gun to. Maybe he'll sneak outside the gate to go target practicing, do something stupid to divert the walkers toward him so Glenn and others can come in.

KT

I think Rick and Morgan may have a Shane/Rick moment in the end. Rick has expressed how you can live this far without taking blood (hinting Morgan's mistake could have cost Rick's life) yet Morgan refuses to choose that path (understandably from his own past)... I feel like that are going to eventually bump heads when it comes to letting though who attack live vs die.

Are you guys as displeased with that ending as I was? The wait continues to see who lives. Good episode, but I fear we are about to be missing some main role players come February.

Yes! These guys are stupid. They need to get a crew of capable and willing to kill people together and leave the rest behind. They don't need just a fence or a wall but both around a fortress. You have to be prepared to be surrounded by walkers and fight off the living. Ironically, the walkers could have been their greatest defense if that steeple didn't come down right on cue.

Wow, there were a lot of bad decisions in that episode. Let's break them down.

Ron vs Carl
Ron picks the absolutely wrong time to fight Carl, nearly getting himself and the whole damn house chowed upon. Carl doesn't tell everyone else what happened, but he does (smartly) confiscate Ron's gun, then tells him his dad was an *******, smooth.

Deanna Gets Bitten
Deanna was bitten during the dash for the house, trying to help Rick. Deanna has some poignant things to say, in particular to Michonne who she tells to find her reason for wanting Alexandria to work and what that means. Deanna goes out killing though, good on her.

Zombie Guts
Rick and company eventually wind up using the zombie guts trick to get through the horde...hopefully. Sam, Jessie's little emotional bundle of nerves is saying "mom" as they make their way through the horde. I guess we'll find out come the second half of the season.

Morgan vs Carol
Morgan and Carol tussle over the the wounded wolf, and in the fight he takes Tara's psychiatrist/doctor girlfriend and one of their pistols. In the immediate moment, this is because Morgan and Carol couldn't talk things out, but its hard to not feel like Carol was right and that Morgan was being silly keeping the wolf member until he realizes the error of his ways has born fruit in a big, negative way.

The Enid and Glenn Buddy Cop Show Is Still Pretty Dumb
We don't see much of Glenn and Enid, but they do see Maggie in trouble atop a watch tower and they have a brief moment in which Glenn tells her that if she doesn't try to help she's losing the memories of the people she cares.

So, a lot is still up in the air, I suspect there is plenty of action yet to come in February, three damn months away. :(

It felt like they were trying to cram too many storylines into one episode. Maggie gets caught on the scaffolding in the first 5 minutes of the episode, then we don't see anything else except a 30-second "yep, she's still up there" at the end of the episode. Glenn and Enid only make a couple of brief appearances as well.

I'm at least glad they (somewhat) broke away from the formula of killing off a major character towards the end of each finale. I mean, yeah, Deanna, but she has been a fairly minor player in Alexandria since Reg got killed, and they revealed it early in the episode instead of a "gotcha" moment towards the end.

I'm waiting to see how Morgan's "all life is precious" mantra will be affected in the 2nd half of the season, or if he will realize that some people just can't be reasoned with (especially with Negan on the way).

No one is discussing the pronunciation of Negan? I always said "NAY-gun," and last night we hear "NEE-gun".

Also, would you have stopped the truck when you saw the apparent bad guys blocking the road? I'd have ducked & hit the gas.

I would have taken out the RPG

I had been rhyming it with "Megan" in my head when I first saw the name, until I read a site discussing the comic books and saw the "correct" pronunciation.

Not sure the truck could have handled running over/through all those bikes (and anyone that wasn't killed would have chased them down and killed them anyway) but c'mon Abraham...RPG.

Also, this was an amusing read about some of the more frustrating aspects of the episode: http://www.funnyordie.com/articles/...ast-night-s-the-walking-dead-midseason-finale

We could still see some RPG action. When have they ever given up easily? I think these Negan goons are used to people being push-overs and giving into their commands. "Sure, we'll hand over our truck and weapons, let me just get them for you." Pew pew!

That RPG has about a 40-foot kill radius. If they were gonna use that, they should have done it when they first saw the guys blocking the road.

As for the truck not being able to run through those bikes... really? That thing weighs TONS even empty. You're not stopping it. It would have demolished every bike on the road. Nothing to chase D, S, & A down with!

Negan is one badass MFer that likes to use the "F" word a lot. I mean, A LOT. In the comics, he has a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire that he likes to use, almost has a relationship with. He talks to her. Her name is Lucille.

He also is known for not liking Glenn very much.

Did the truck have a storage compartment in the back, or was it just the tanker? I can't even remember what it looks like. Anyways, I doubt the three of them would be riding with an RPG cocked and loaded, lol. They also take a few seconds to pull out, shoulder, aim, etc.

Running through them wouldn't have been possible either as they'd just move, because it was an open stretch of road and they were on their hogs, could just fan out and hunt them down. 10 guys with semi-automatics would tear up anyone in that cab. Or even if they werent able to move the bikes, dont underestimate how easy it is to trap a big truck like that. Youtube vids galore of bikes and other **** getting stuck under big vehicles. Could easily see a couple of those bikes jammed into the axles. That all said I'd have probably had a shootout with all of them, using the truck as cover. They're in the open. Probably die, but after Terminus **** surrendering.

That said, episode sucked. Still grump about Glenn being alive. And ****ty cliffhangers, which the finale is incorporating as well.

All well & good. If they had stopped when they first saw the group, loaded up the RPG without it being seen, there is no way any of the bikers could have moved the bikes off the road before Abraham fired the RPG.

That's now what I am going with as what I would have done.

:D

Somehow I missed the whole bike episode, or at least I think I have. I recall them finding the fuel truck and the RPGs, but I don't remember them running into bikers. I guess I'll have to go back and look.

Do you guys recall what episode that was in? I should still have them on my DVR.

It was a "preview" into next season, not necessarily the next episode. It was shown during the 1st commercial break of "Into The Badlands" and again during "The Talking Dead".

It's on YouTube, luckily.

The more I think about it, the clearer my plan becomes (unfortunately, they don't have 30 hours to think about their plan):

See the group blocking the road. Stop as soon as you can. Get Abraham to start loading the RPG into the launcher. Wait until the biker group starts getting antsy and start getting on their bikes to come to you. Before they can take off, fire off the RPG. Kill all the bikes & probably most of the Saviors (that's what this group is called in the comics). Drive on down the road.

Ah, armchair quarterbacking...

Ahhh. I DVR'd it and never seen that part.

The first, very brief, teaser trailer for the Walking Dead second half of the season has arrived. There's only brief glimpses of new scenes, one in particular stands out: Maggie shouting "Glenn" with what sounds like anguish, could Glenn be about to die? Also, it looks like (unsurprisingly) that the zombie guts plan goes tits up.

Why would they spare Glenn during the first half of the season just to kill him off in the second half?

To be dicks/unpredictable. I mean, this was the show that made you think Hershel was going to die at least three different ways a couple of seasons ago before the Governor beheaded him. I'm not saying that I think Glenn is going to die based on a very brief clip of Maggie shouting, but it's certainly possible.
