The Wager

[Walker]

the_bird and I have a friendly wager going on for this weekend's Bengals/Patriots game. At stake are both homebrew and dignity.

When the Bengals walk off the field victorious, the_bird will ship (at his own cost) two bottles of homebrew.

In addition to this, his signature will be changed to the following for 7 days:

Boy, Walker-san's a genius, and I'm a friggin' idiot. The Bengals are bound to win the Super Bowl this year. My Patriots SUCK!

And finally, the_bird's avatar will be changed to feature the Mighty Bengals (in a positive light.. perhaps I should get to chose the avatar to be certain?).

Should the Patriots (total record, including pre-season, of 4-3) manage to stop the Bengals (total record, including pre-season, of 7-0), I will have to part with brew and publically humiliate myself in a similar fashion.

It's on!

FWIW, I've already picked the Bengals in my Pick 'em league. I went 11-3 last week.

Which is fine, except that we like the same friggin' restaurants, so it just ends up being - win or lose, I'm taking her out to dinner ... anytime I suggest a wager that's a little more, well, *interesting*, she calls me a pig...

Hell, it's easy to get some of my beer. the_bird actually did it the hard way by betting on the underdog and winning.

Regardless... It's not the beer I am concerned about but rather the public humiation and the "L" on the Bengals record. I can always make more beer, I cannot buy back pride or change the record.
