If your 101 years old or older, your also SOL. Apparently if your older then 100, they obviously think you should not be reading this stuff.

Ya, it's a tad lame, but it's the responsible thing to do. Seems to me like they shouldn't bother with the confirmation page. It's not like if you fail once you're going to leave.

I remember some age verifiers used to ask you questions about current events and who was the president when. It really sucked for us Canucks because we don't care who the president is/was.

I suppose cheesefood would be the one to ask. Some of the adult sites obviously get around this by asking for a charge card and saying that they wont use it. I have and will never give something like that.... but have you? Is this just for verification or a scam?

It's a scam, I know from perso... um, I mean I had a friend that it happened to!

As for the birthday thing, they want to make it so that if someone underage does end up on their site and their parents complain, they can say that the person didn't just accidently click through. They actually lied about their birthday to get in. Just like if someone shows a fake ID at the 7-11, it puts the liability on the kid.

Here in Nebraska, even if the kid uses a fake ID the bar owner is still fined for not catching it. Bunch of crap if you ask me.

Same is true in VT, or at least it was back when I was working a convenience store ten years ago. It was the responsibiliy of the store to catch the fake ID; kid passes a fake ID and the employees make the sale, the store owners are in deep s**t.

Man, I used to *love* carding the kids who would come in and try and buy beer. I'm usually a nice guy, but sometimes there's nothing more enjoyable than being an absolute a-hole to someone. Even better was when the kids tried to bribe you with like five bucks to let them walk out the door with a twelve pack. Good times.
