My buddy brought a bottle of Para 47 to a share last weekend. I've had a few of the earlier Parageusia bottles and was really impressed, but the one we opened....

Did we have a bad bottle or is this batch just off?

Para47 was a future rustic IPA so it wasn't exactly the same as the others.

I had a bottle the other day and thought it was better than when it came out (very perfumey) so hopefully once that para yeast has some time to work it will be more similar to the previous versions.

Yeah it's b4 like Steve said, I believe it's b6 of saisonhands but it may be b7. I lost track. It's great.

I know they already have the labels so they can't edit them but it would be cool if they could kind of stamp them or something with B# as things move along.. They got that attachment to the caner to ink them with the date which is a great addition, just need to work out the kinks of the machine so that each stamp is legible.

like someone said before. 47 is not like any other para. it was more of a hoppy farmhouse. I hope someone didnt trade it to you presenting it like the others.

Nah no trades, just a friend from Philly who brought it over. I didn't know anything about it an advance, so I was a little confused. Most people hadn't even had the regular Para series and still wanted to drain pour it.

Regular Para series is solid, but I think well below the quality of their other bottled and draft saisons. And Ourison is their best beer. All that may be an unpopular opinion though.

Yeah Ourison is really nice

Wasn't handfarm basically ourison? Or it saisonhands in oak barrels instead of foeders?

handfarm turned into farmhands.. last batch was b6.. wine barreled saison.

ourison is saisonhands but bottle conditioned with house cultures i believe for a few months?... imo it is one of, if not their best beer.. of course saisonhands is clutch too, and now all saisonhands is see's wood in the foeders. keeps developing each batch...

FarmHands = SaisonHands at brew cafe. Since ferm, all SaisonHands has spent time in an oak foudre. It's really a different beer at this point in my opinion. It has evolved in such great way. HandFarm was FarmHands aged in Chardonnay barrels then bottled. Ourison is current SaisonHands bottle conditioned for an extended time, varying by batch but usually a couple months, b1 was in bottles for the most time before release afaik.

I agree with Ourison being one of their best beers. It is incredible. So happy it's gonna be a consistent bottle.

Well, yes, we all know it was FarmHands before the brewery that shall not be named claimed the name

I drank the entire Para series about 2-3 weeks ago, thanks again Nathan and Jordan, and I would currently rank them 1-3-2-4-5-------47. One and three were drinking very well but one was the clear favorite. Two and four were quite nice as well, just a bit behind the other two. Five was good but honestly should have been released on its own and not part of this series. It definitely suffers lower scores after being compared to the others.

Had two different bottles of 47 that day hours apart, both were ok at best. He pretty clearly used the Para name on 47 to sell it knowing it wasn't up to the standard of the other beers previously released in this series.

Anyone going to the release today? Would love a can of each if you're up to set up a little swap :D

Sticky release went great. It's amazing seeing three different bottles available to go right now. All of them are really great saisons. Eyes Closed & Open is the best saison on draft for my preferences. BrewCafe list has been steady great. Killing the Lagers and Pilsners lately.

Yeah, the bottle of Ourison we bought a month ago or so was really good. Going to pick up my bottles of Sticky sometime this weekend.

Any kind soul want to send me some helles cans? I can repay with right proper growlers or any other DC locals you'd be interested in...
