Aw no guys, Firewheel Brewing up in Dallas is closing. Anyone need a cheap 15 barrel system?

Fort Bend, Wicked Beaver, and Firewheel this year.... Just goes to show that **** beer cannot sustain in any market. Who will be next?

My Austin picks are Circle, South Austin Brewing (v2), and Rogness.

South Austin Brewing needs to die already. I just am sick of their ******** cans taking up shelf space. Why... won't... you... die?!
I'm surprised No Label, Buffalo Bayou, and Texas Big Beer managed to stay in business this long. Buffalo occasionally throws out a half decent offering and I've always enjoyed 1836. Only thing I remember liking from NL was Forbidden Lavender, which was still very perfumey.

Their off label series save the sour have been pretty good imo

ive liked a TON of Buffalo Bayou, much better than a lot of the ones listed. (tbb, no label, circle)

about the only circle offering ive liked was the nightlight. blur is OK but id drink the **** out of nightlight.

i think on the original list that rogness is still solid, even though i dont buy them much.

Im suprised the adelberts hate i hear in bars hasnt made this list.

SAB is horrible and needs to go, imo.

as does Lazy magnolia. GOD ******* AWFUL.

I'm just proud of yall for trying TBB, Rogness, circle, B-52, ect... never had any cause they don't even sound good.

Buff Bayou does weird things well but normal offerings kind of suck. Still enjoy Gingerbread stout.

No Label's Off Label series has been nice. Perpetual Peace is every bit as good as Backwoods Bastard.

But then there's some **** markets still in Texas where **** breweries can thrive. Which does a lot to explain Texas Big Beer.

Isn't that place literally in some dudes' barn? lol.

It tastes like it....

but oddwood saison was really good, and thats just rebranded adelberts right?

Adelberts shares/rents out brewing space to Evil Brewing and Oddwood Brewing, iirc.

Adelberts is actually quite successful I believe... I see their **** on shelves in other states (I wanna say they're distro'd by Shelton in other states?)

I saw them at a liquor store in Massachusetts for instance right snack next to Jester King Mad Meg.

some of their stuff is decent, the barrel aged stuff (excluding barrel of love or wtf that ******** was) was alright, and i'd love for oddwood to release something else sometime soon

Texas Beer Refinery sticking to the $18ish price point for a branded 64oz growler of their gose is... come on man. I'd buy the **** out of it (that beer specifically) if their packaging wasn't a terrible decision (that they've stuck with).

First time I've ever heard negative stuff about B52. They're pretty solid -- I'll try anything they put out, and have quite liked a few of their beers (Pils and Double IPA, especially).

Fair enough, like I said I haven't tried anything so not saying they are bad but just they haven't had any shelf appeal to make me want to buy it.

Hard for a draught only brewery to have shelf appeal.
Figured someone would call me out on that after I posted it. Whatever, bar appeal, tap list appeal. There is just always something else I'd rather have how about that.

Of Lutter's hate list it's Rogness that is on the critical list. They're have multiple problems.

Circle makes really solid entry-level beer and I think they will keep chugging along. They are nice people to boot.

South Austin is showing signs of life with their Evel Ale, a branding master move IMHO. Their beers are not bad and going with 6/12 format instead of 4/16 should help then along.

To get in on the hate party, personally I wish Atwater would go the **** away. At least don't build a brewery here.
Yeah, their beer sucks. And it's freaking everywhere for some reason. They should **** off back to the North.

Well they sold off Austin Homebrew Supply... I'm guessing they were running out of cash and HAD to pick one.

I think they picked incorrectly, lol.

Question for Houston guys, is Black Friday at specs worth the **** show? What's a good time to go with a good chance of getting bc variants?
