Almost every brewery we went to in the Greater Denver Area has moved to larger state-of-the-art facilities in the 2 years since I've been here.

Just goes to show how our ****** up laws are holding back our Texas breweries once again.

****. Avery's new setup is killer... 4 different bar setups (one on a catwalk over the new brewhouse, fermentation, and bottling facilities), restaurant, and bottleshop/gift shop. Filled growlers flying across the bar.

Great Divide just opened a new brewery to house their barrels and canning facilities.

Speaking of Avery, they re-vamped their IPA recipe. Much fruitier and more aromatic. Mosaic?
I'm now a fan.

600 Degrees, Brass Tap, Red Horn and Dig Pub are the best places up north. New growler fill spot/bar opening in Pflugerville soon too

The reviews of Texian, The Liberty are laughable. It's either people expecting a wild ale or people expecting a clean IPA. It's neither of those tings, but it is a damn tasty brett IPA.

2 questions for Houston folks:

1) I'm going to Underbelly with some friends tomorrow. Any suggestions on a place near there to get a beer before dinner?

2) What's the best spot for getting growler fills in the Heights area? Also, is Yellow Rose still the pride and joy for growler fills?

1. Don't know if srs...

2. Yellow Rose and live oak hefe are musts for growler fills. Growlers Montrose is close to the heights.

1a. Ok, if srs, walk next door to Hay merchant

Lucky you, right next door to Underbelly is Hay Merchant. Its one of Houston's best craft beer bars. Hay Merchant does growler fills, and also the Whole Foods Montrose down the road on Waugh. There's also a Growler's (growler station/store/bar) on Waugh too.

The closest growler spot to the Heights is Premium Draught http://premiumdraught.com/

Hope this will help too: http://goodbeerhouston.com/

Thanks for the suggestions guys! It sounds like I should be able to more than get by

Looks like I'm moving to Round Rock (like literally next to Dell) at the end of the month.

Because....

rent-too-damn-high.png

That and closer to where I work now up in North Austin.

$350.00 difference in rent, bigger, newer place... it all made sense.

The part that's gonna suck is I'm gonna be like kmello69 levels of distance from Jester King, lol.
