Mine used to come in the room drunk on the weekends @ 2 or 3AM. Woke me up every time because we had bunk beds. Was hilarious though listening to him trying to climb the ladder to his bunk. Sometimes he'd make it up to the top, only to drop his phone ~6 feet to the ground, and I laughed while he cussed.

Looks like I'm moving to Round Rock (like literally next to Dell) at the end of the month.

Because....

That and closer to where I work now up in North Austin.

$350.00 difference in rent, bigger, newer place... it all made sense.

The part that's gonna suck is I'm gonna be like kmello69 levels of distance from Jester King, lol.

The upside is that you'll be very close to all the northern shares. Yeah, getting out to JK takes a little planning, but you'll be in a great area. Welcome to the Rock!

Oh, and as far north as you think that is, I'm a solid 15 minutes further north from there

They can't sell beer to-go. In stores, their cans are dated (or in the case of Greenhouse, have the batch # on them with more details on the batch at http://www.hopsandgrain.com/green-house-ipa/)

Oh crazy...I saw cans at the brewery last time and assumed they were for sale. Any Austin area liquor stores have an updated bottle/can list?

The newest releases are Greenhouse #33 (but I don't think any stores have gotten it yet) and A Pale Mosaic (I believe the freshest is dated 10/8). Social media is your best bet to find recent drops, but those are really the only two you'll see stores call out. The other stuff should be available at most grocery stores.

Aren't they making that on the big system? Why aint it everywhere?

I picked up a 6 pack at the Lakeline HEB last week... Haven't checked since, but there was plenty when I grabbed mine.

I've picked mine up at HEB Mueller/CM N Lamar mostly and there was always plenty of it.

I've seen it at the CM on S Lamar each time I've gone in over the past 2-3 weeks. That is a sample size of 3, but still, seems to be around.

Check Spec's Liquor. I'd call first, but they usually have 12-shippers.

Aw no guys, Firewheel Brewing up in Dallas is closing. Anyone need a cheap 15 barrel system?

Fort Bend, Wicked Beaver, and Firewheel this year.... Just goes to show that **** beer cannot sustain in any market. Who will be next?

My Austin picks are Circle, South Austin Brewing (v2), and Rogness.

South Austin Brewing needs to die already. I just am sick of their ******** cans taking up shelf space. Why... won't... you... die?!

I'll agree with you that Rogness could be next, or the next Austin area one anyway. Or maybe Save the World Brewing? I can't recall ever really seeing anyone buy their stuff.

STW actually puts out quality beer. I don't think I've been disappointed with one of their brews. Just not a brewery I buy very often because of the large bottle format. I do send them as extras often.

Just goes to show that **** beer cannot sustain in any market.

I don't know about that. I think that **** beer can sustain in a **** market. I just don't think that most of the cities in Texas are still **** markets. Houston, Dallas, Austin, all have some good competition locally and quite a good deal of great competition from out-of-state distribution.

The real loss here is that Texas is failing to put up major competition to that out-of-state distro, and as a result, we're heading in the direction of a lot of small-footprint meh breweries, a few good breweries, and a ton of imports from other states. The barrier to entry for a new brewery is rising even without the quality of Texas breweries rising.

But then there's some **** markets still in Texas where **** breweries can thrive. Which does a lot to explain Texas Big Beer.
