I won't go to Growler Room anymore because they are ******** and overcharge They bitch about filling narrow top growlers or 750ml growlers(I ain't doing no ******* math, I'll charge you for 32oz). To be fair I am specifically speaking about the dreadlocked guy at the Burnet location. I am done with them.

Draught House. Pinthouse, Whole Foods are my go tos. Some place needs to get on the system that Lone Star Tap & Caps and Lakewood Growler have in Dallas. Real time taplist including how much is left in the keg. Only thing lacking is the price.
That kid pissed me off when I was in their for Sputnik. Told me those mason jars were better than growlers. Do I look like a homeless drunk? How hard is it to shove a tube up the tap?

Stanley's have quietly filled my swing tops with Einhorn and Sputnik. Haven't filled up at Pinthouse. Anyone carry a growler tube with them? Is there a universal tube or are their different sizes?

Growler Room didnt use a tube? They always use the tube when I get growlers filled there - was this just for the mason jar?

I don't go there any more either. Got tired of dealing with their attitude, and the dreadlock dude was hella rude to my wife the one time she went in there to get something for me. He's lucky I wasn't there, or close by, or I would have ****** **** up in that place.

Dreadlock punk said he didn't have anything to fill my swingtop growlers and didn't have a tube. I asked him how the f*** did he fill growlers then? His answer was mason jars. That location is a dump and will not be back.

****, if i could break into the biz, id ******* go against the growler room in everything they do after hearing the horror stories from you guys and Kmello. I didnt have a "bad" time per se when i actually went, but waiting about 25 minutes to get a few 64oz growlers filled pissed me off when im waiting behind a few *********s who are just sampling.

If i could take everyone's ideas here, combine with a few i like from the growler room(etching, **** yeah), and maybe get a kickstarter or some investors, id gladly fill swing tops(which if i had my druthers id ONLY buy, but some places only sell screw tops), and id learn what the **** counterpressure REALLY is LOL, and enjoy every ******* minute of not having to sweat, climb poles, and generally have to work like an *******, to bring solid beer to the growler community.

so many great ideas squashed by not having capital.

He lied. They have tubes. They just like to bitch about swingtops, and he didnt want to fill it. **** those guys.

What gets me is that dreadhead chooses to be an ass to people. I drove from Houston with intentions of getting Sputnik the first weekend they had it while on my way to JK. I was a bit early by about 10 mins. He opens the door and smokes a cig while on the phone. He watches me go inside and he makes me wait while he finishes his smoke. I hate bad customer service as that is the number one reason people don't go back to an establishment.

All of us just need to open a place together where we all can come to be beer nerds and kick back with good suds. No pretentiousness. No a-holes. Good people, good beer, good times.

My wife went in there to buy me a gift card last Christmas. They were open, and he was in there just talking to someone, so she waited. She ended up standing there for 15 minutes, during which time he never even bothered to recognize her presence. Finally, he stopped his conversation and said, with attitude, "Do you NEED something!?"

**** those guys. She had to talk me out of going over there and punching him in the face

Having a background in the service industry it pains me to hear about this knotty headed individual at the GR. Have any of you gentlemen notified the owners about this scallywag to have him reprimanded or possibly removed?

Or is he in fact, one of the owners? The pic Lutter posted looks older than who I had envisioned.

On another note, I got to try a sample can of SS's Half Nelson and loved it. (Full disclosure, I'm a bit of a freak about Nelson Sauvin hops, some of you already know this)

I'd put this right up there with Yellow Rose. I really hope it sees package.

I believe he's one of the owners.

Well if that's the case I guess he won't be in business long with that attitude.

You can say what you will about Franklin barbecue but the first time I went in there I'd never met Aaron Franklin but he greeted me like I was his best friend he hadn't seen in years. Very engaging and a stark contrast to the somewhat "Germanic", gruff attitude you encounter at some of the barbecue joints around Texas.

Attitude and friendlines go a long way in running a successful business.

Lutter's pic is not of dreadhead. I've never seen the older gentleman before, but the one we are talking about is a young kid.

Nope, thats the guy I'm talking about. He has dreads, but you can't see them under the bandana in that pic.

Not sure about Austin, but if you're up near Cedar Park, Red Horn has it on tap now

Whice area will you be in?

Draughthouse shows that they have it on tap right now on their website (draughthouse.com). You could also check flying saucer and pinthouse pizza which are both in the same area (45th and medical is draughthouse, other 2 are less than 5 minutes from there).

Up north whole foods in the domain may have it if you check their tap hunter. They have 40 taps and usually carry great brews. Opal divines may also have it as well or you could check the dig pub kind of in Cedar park area. Brass tap in round rock may be worth checking as well. All those places have a tap list online except opals.

More south craft pride or bangers on Rainey street are your best bets.

Green Flash is doing a decent job at producing the Alpine beers. Nelson is closest at being true to form, then Duet and Hoppy Birthday is the furthest. If you make a trio to San Diego a drive to Alpine should still be in order. There's a noticeable difference in the beers being produced and the OG Alpine are phenomenal.
