Never tried Gerik's, I'll have to check that out.I don't go there anymore after having Gerik's kolaches. Bread at Czech Stop in general is too sweet for me.

If I go down again soon and have an extra seat, I'll let you know.Living in Houston so lots more to explore in Austin. I saw you'd be there later and our times wouldn't match so I didn't give it much more thought. I did run into people there I know from Houston. Probably be back but that's a long round trip for beer.
San Diego. Thanks! Just brewed my first batch in TX.If I go down again soon and have an extra seat, I'll let you know.
Just remembered that you moved here....from Philly?
I don't buy kolaches unless they're made at Hruskas
I haven't been in about 6-7 years but I remember being amazed that they made such world class beer on such ****** equipment, lol. They still using re-purposed dairy equipment in there?I finally visited Live Oak on Saturday and it was a great time. We tried 7 of their beers, including a firkin of Liberator that was super tasty. They were very excited to talk about the new brewery, which is supposed to open sometime near the end of 2015 and include a canning line and expanded beer lineup...
I think they affectionately called it the "Frankenbrewery" haha. I don't know if the equipment used to be dairy stuff but it did look old and crowded. Apparently it has been 2 other manufacturing facilities before, and Live Oak has been there for 18 years. They recently built a giant cold-storage tank outside because they didn't want to improve the building.I haven't been in about 6-7 years but I remember being amazed that they made such world class beer on such ****** equipment, lol. Headed back to Austin this saturday. Going to some brewery in Bee Caves.
There were 3-4 cases at CM Westgate this past weekend on the floor at $16.99. Can't imagine they're gone. There was a decent amount of Abyss left at HEB Escarpment when I was there Sunday, for those in Austin still looking for it.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Abyss cuts it anymore? Meh. Good beer, but worth $15-$17?
I swear the first time I had it it had a $8.99 price tag (prolly 08' or thereabouts)
Founders CBS release at big hops san antonio was crazy today. Nobody here at 3:30. Everyone and their mother here at 5 when they tapped it. Amazing beer. Glad I got to try it. Will definitely bang again if I get the chance.
I heard that Big Hops CBS floated in 14 minutes. A couple friends of mine went.
Now I hate them.
I saw that on IG. They responded, and it sounded like they were saying they didn't know what Hay Merchant is. So weak.
