College Station... Similar wasteland?
I wish it was similar. Is it really that hard to find good beer in a college town, or are you spoiled by living in arguably the best beer city in the state?

We have really good chicharrones and tortillas here, though. So that's nice.

It's not that bad really... Austin spoils me. Just bitter... Although my buddy grabbed me a 4pack of BCBS and a Vanilla today. So it's all good.

Actually, a bar in College Station is tapping BCBS today. May hit that up.

I just got into Dallas. Oak Lawn Goody Goody has 3 BCBS 4 packs left, Whole Foods HP has 2, and they broke some up to sell by the bottle as well. No variants at either.

Is it just me, or does it seem there is a LOT less variants compared to last year?

Ya coffee is basically non existant for some reason. Just happy my spot in Houston seems to be the only place I've seen that got it. Which almost makes it more weird...

Ball so hard...

At least 3 places in Round Rock had this today, along with 4-packs of BCBS and BCBBW. Could have easily had a case of each, but bought none. No need to struggle with all the Austin beer release BS. Single bottles - hah!

I know of at least 2 places that STILL have BCBS as of right now. Suburbs, baby.

My amigo is staying with his folks in Georgetown. Anything he gets will be muled back down here to the borderlands to share with our small group.

Anyone have a tip on where he might score anything bourbon county?

The nearest place for us to get it is 150 miles each way. Lingering mouth hugs for any assistance.

Bought the last 4pk at Spec's on Fry Rd in Katy

Cracked one with the wife, first impression is soy sauce. Really disappointed.

did they get anything aside from regular bcbs?
I don't know. I just randomly wandered in and asked. Didn't inquire about the varieties because I figure they would have already been long gone.

I also wonder for beers with so much being released if they dump all the barrels into 1 massive Brite tank or if they do multiple dumping and bottlings. Anyone know?

Multiple bottlings. I have two 4-packs with different dates and abvs. All of this years bottlings are also less alcohol, last year was 14.9% and the two I have from this year are 14.4% and 13.8%.

Very interesting, I had the 13.8% beer. Weird tartness to it as well. Good to see some clarification on this. With such a massive distribution I would have expected multiple bottlings.

if anyone has bottles they dont want id take one, but i wont be in austin til dec 5th afaik.

did any regular bcbs come out? ive got a bottle of that id love to do a side by each with.

ps. is extremely angry beast by clown shoes limited? picked up 2 at elgin when i was there and they seemed to have a good amount.

Back to San Diego today. My next time posting in this thread should have me moving to Houston. TBD on date but I'll be rolling in with a bunch of growlers of draft only IPA (Alpine, Rip Current, Societe). I'll want to set up a bottle/growler share.
Cheers!

Dude if I had your palate I wouldn't even drink beer. I probably wouldn't even eat much food.

If any Houston'ers missed out on regular BCBS, PM me. I know a place getting a case tomorrow. Limit 1x 4 pack per person. $25 per. I'll also tell you where they're hiding it.

It'll probably hit later in the morning/afternoon, so don't worry if you don't see this till tomorrow.
Nice new avatar!
