Forget Wicked Weed, I want this...

Butter city in the aroma and taste. Avoid at all costs.

Hi everyone!

Just accepted a promotion in Austin, TX starting this May. Wanted to drop in this thread and say hello. I'll come bearing gifts of cycle stouts, CCB el cat junk, and some Wakefield nonsense.

See you all soon!
Nice man! Hope to meet you next time I make it down. Which will probably be closer to May anyway.

New to the site and don't have the time to go back in the thread...

Does Collective get much love around here? I know it does not seem to get the love I feel it deserves most places I look.

Or do I just have a terrible palette?

They get some love, perhaps not as often here, but on Facebook groups.
Their American Red and Petite Sour have been good, both beating my expectations. Haven't had their other stuff, but I'm sure I will eventually.

As for this thread, it ebbs and flows, and there's not much fanboying going on (except for JK, but they have a widely liked and well known product lineup). I'd welcome updates on Collective (and Braindead, haven't ever had) in this thread.

Apricot Petit Sour was pretty impressive and nearly on the level of Aurelian Lure for apricot flavor. Worth grabbing for sure whenever that rolls around again.

Good times meeting you and Gene in Denver, if you recall the bottle share in OMF's outdoor area back in 2014 :)

And hey Austin folks... I'll be headed that way real soon myself.

Second the comments on Apricot PGS, bad ass brew. They have Raspberry PGS in barrels now that should be ready soon, i'm gonna be all over that.

I have been on a buying haitus since the start of the year for various reasons, however I am really hoping the Raspberry PGS comes out after my haitus is on break...

Welcome JGlitz87 and jdurdz! Have you practiced posting animated gifs yet? Because that is prized over everything else on this site.

Collective barely makes it down to Austin. Austin is the center of the Texas beer world....

.... Therefore they need to send us more beer.

I'm not sure that the fruited versions of PGS go very far outside FW or maybe even the brewery. I got a pour of the apricot one via a crowler.

Yes, because Austin breweries are notorious for sending beer all over the place.
Do any Dallas breweries even make it out of the state? lol.

Adelberts, Jester King, Shiner, and Saint Arnold are the only 4 I can think of. All of which I see on shelves in Florida when I go home.

Therefore Austin exports half the beer sent out from Texas.

So giving.

No Arkansas no care. Shiner and a bit of Southern Star are all I see.

Many sads.

Would love to grab a beer and show you around San Antonio

Will be landing in SA tomorrow night. Open for tip touching either tomorrow or Friday.

You didn't mention Austin :(
But I want to publicly claims some dibs for WHEN you come to Austin.

Nate, Robert - I will NOT be stopping in Austin.:( Driving straight from SA to Dallas Sunday morning to drop the wife at the airport. Sorry, next time.

I will be in Dallas/Ft. Worth area Sunday night (and Monday night) if anyone else is around.

Picked up the braindead biere de garde the other day, will report back.

Anyone get a chance to try Martin Houses's BA Stout Acheron? Looks like it's getting some solid reviews. Looking forward to another solid BA Stout coming out of DFW.

Are you staying in Dallas or Arlington (where the stadium is).

Dallas is.. *******... HUGE.

There should be some JK on shelves (check Central Market & Specs). Prolly Petit Prince, El Cedro, Wytchmaker, and Noble King... maybe some Dichotomous, Biere de Miel, or Snörkel too. Maybe. Grab El Cedro for sure if you see it... it's a Citra farmhouse ale and is farking delicious. A bunch just went out.

My favorite bars are Strangeways & Meddlesome Moth. LUCK (Local Urban Craft Kitchen) is a great restaurant near downtown if you specifically want to dry local DFW beer. MM is most likely to have JK on tap (and other Austin-area beers like Live Oak)

Yeah, Jester King is about 225-ish miles from there, heh. If suggest posting an IP trade if you're looking for brewery only stuff. There are a lot of Dallas homies that drive down for big releases.

Hey guys, from San Diego visiting DFW area, will be going to a nascar race april 8-10th (not the biggest fan but my family is so wanted to join in). Will be staying in Dallas, wondering if these beer/liquor shops carry JK pretty often, saw this post in Dec, wondering if it still holds up. Also interested to do some IP trades, can bring alpine, pizza port and other SD and LA stuff(Monkish/Smog City). Relatively new the forum even in the SD thread but wanted to ask and get some advice!
