Definitely curious to see what comes of this. Sometimes I wonder if stories like this result in ownership realizing that their "dinky" operation wasn't so bad at all. Lot of freedoms are lost when you go big. Hard to not pursue that sort of opportunity, I'm sure, but as is the case with many things in life, the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.
Yeah, also a lot has changed in that time. There are a lot of really good new players which have eaten into the market. I think there will be less people willing to make the drive, but time will tell.

I honestly wonder what Pat learned (and how it might change him going forward) from his experiences trying unsuccessfully to raise funding for expansion on his own, working unsuccessfully on a deal with a contract brewer in Minnesota, then partnering with and ultimately selling out to GF only to see that business get run into the ground and drag his once-revered brand down with it. Will he be content to run a dinky operation like the old days or does he still think he knows how to make it on a grand scale?
Full hermit mode, "every man for himself," "**** the man" brewery please.

Maybe they'll open in the vacated Depot Springs location. I would selfishly approved of that. It'd have a whole "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" vibe. Alpine Brewing of La Mesa.

I'm on board for that. Certainly less of a drive. Or open something near Burning Beard so I have a better excuse for going over there.

I would also support something near Burning Beard, haha. Alpine Brewing of El Cajon doesn't sound all that bad.

That space is probably too big. I don't know how much funds they have either. I believe the outdoor seating alone would be bigger than the current Alpine location. Though if they do go there and want to make soda they should give me a shout out ;)

Oh, lets get him some recommendations.

  • Shoulda Never Sold Brewing
  • 'Member Nelson Beer Company
  • "I wouldn't trust Hinkley to plan a picnic" Brewery
  • "It's not sour, you aged it wrong" Brewing
  • "Chez Monieux is Supposed to taste like feet" Beer Company

You forgot; No LA *********s Brewery

Things I'm wishful for:
  • Pat is allowed to purchase physical assets back in Alpine.
  • Existing crew moves over.
  • Shawn's GF contract is bought out and he's able to come over (I'm not 100% he would want this though...)
Things I don't care about:
  • The name of the brewery.
  • People bitching about how far it is.
  • A damn thing what Mike Hinkley thinks.

Zero Fox Brewing. If there can be Hoof Hearted, why not Zero Fox?
