I'm a cornhole god.

Good greasy burger, decent pizza.
i'm pretty meh on them. pizza is decent. burger just feels like an innout double double if you were to ask for nothing but grilled onions, and spread, except maybe greasier. it's $5, dunno what more you can expect, but parking in that area sucked. driving to north park is a pain. burger is made to order which can take a while depending on how backed up they are. etc etc.

honestly, i've been going to fuddruckers more. they cook your patty to order and desired doneness, and you can pretty much dress your burger however you like. it's cheap. fast. close to work. they have fries. never a wait, etc.

It's got this weird cult following. Don't badmouth them on EDSD or you'll be shunned. It's fine for what it is. If I had the choice in front of me, I'd still rather take a Double Double.

They do this pretentious ******** where they don't let you modify anything. They don't want to ruin their "vision" for the dish. Complete nonsense.

I haven't been to Fuddruckers in a long long time, but we've actually been frequenting Habit a lot. Not sure what it is about them, but we enjoy their burgers.

The Father's Office approach to a burger that sounds like it belongs at a tailgate? That's funny.

#Talkburger. Maybe blasphemous since they're from the east coast, but my favorite greasy burger is Five Guys. Side note and totally unrelated, I'm also from the east coast.

For the east county folk, I really like Beef 'n Bun and go there more than any fast burger joint.

Any of you guys check out Working Class? Worth the visit?
I've enjoyed it. Their General Tso Cauliflower is amazing! Beer list is solid and the owners seem to really care about the neighborhood. I'll always miss Ritual (had my wedding dinner there), but I was expecting to hate this place (based on their initial press releases, etc.) and I've been pleasantly surprised!

Has anyone checked out The Friendly yet? Heard good things. North of Fall Brewing on 30th.

It's good. But it's not life changing as is conveyed. If you don't LOVE mayo/aioli- you will not like the burger. I can't eat it, it's to much of the "sauce". Pizza is fine to good, but at the price- it's not a go-to for me. I'll grab a slice if I'm at Fall and there is no food truck or it's closed already.

The crowds can be annoying and once they get their beer/wine license and people aren't as eager to move on after they finish eating (get out of their seats), I just don't imagine I'll be going there much!

I dig The Friendly as it’s super close to me, but I agree with what everyone has said. For not wanting modifications, the burger seems to change every time. Sometimes it’s paper thin, sometimes too much mayo (and I like mayo), but when it’s good it’s really freaking good (for $5). The specials are where it’s at though. Animal style pizza, shaved smoked beef hoagie, mushroom bacon Swiss burger were all legit.

We enjoy the habit.

We lived in DC area for a while and would visit the original locations and the ones out here are solid but definitely have a different vibe.

My favorite is in n out. It's the spread that does it for me.

I hate pretentiousness of you will eat how we make it. But damn is the father's office burger good. Their tap/bottle list was always on point too.

I'm less bothered by restaurants refusing modifications to a dish than seeing customers ask for 3 or 4 modifications. Stop asking for things that are not offered. Like most things, a nice middle ground is key.

LSUPT nailed it with The Friendly, go when one of the specials tickles your fancy. In random eating, I've really enjoyed Small Bar's Wednesday seafood specials lately, hope it continues to be a regular thing. And in other food related questions, any suggestions for Chula Vista beyond Tacos el Gordo, Aqui es Texcoco, and TJ Oyster Bar? Going to get a little irresponsibly inebriated and feast on Saturday, looking to for any and all suggestions in the area.

The EDSD cult bothers me so much. They also have hard-ons for The Balboa which is an ok burger but **** guys, they're not THAT good.

Hah. I like the Habit too. It's like 5 min drive + Habit Burger > 15 min drive + In-N-Out. Clear winner there for me. Plus, I don't feel as ****** when I get those tempura green beans :) Although to be fair, it's like a $10 meal there, vs like a $7 @ in-n-out.

+1 for Beef n Bun. Plus their ice cream shakes are killer.

That $3 difference is worth not driving that stretch of Mira Mesa Blvd between Camino Ruiz and Westview.

FO is great for beers, but I never understood the hype on their burgers. Most local mom and pop joints in my neighborhood have a better burger.

And I like ketchup.
