"The Green Flash and Alpine breweries will continue to operate in San Diego and Alpine, respectively. Meanwhile, the Green Flash Brewhouse & Eatery in Lincoln, Neb. will open in April, and will brew specialty beers serving the state of Nebraska."
Green Flash has put out like 3 press releases in the last two weeks, none of which were very accurate.

If you like the taste of exploitation...
I never took it as exploitation. More just latching on to something and milking every penny. Plus didn't the Gwynn family go into this willingly.
They wouldn’t be doing it if the son’s name wasn’t Tony.
You're right it would probably just be session .394 like they have imperial .394 :D

My understanding was that Tony Gwynn wasn’t really a beer drinker but wanted to have a beer brewed so he could take it to the Hall of Fame ceremonies because Tom Seaver always brought his wine.

So Tony signs a deal with AleSmith to brew it. Then he dies.

AleSmith and Tony’s family then seize the opportunity to milk it to death.

Maybe it was Tony’s dream to have a museum in his name at a brewery (never mind the charity and its shady accounting) and for his legacy to be linked to a series of beers he never even tasted. Just doesn’t seem likely to me.

AleSmith was my favorite SD brewery up until a few years ago and Tony will probably always be my favorite Padre, but the pairing leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Pretty sure Tony did taste the initial as well as the version of 394 with the added citrus "Tony's take".

i don't know why but when I read this line the first thing that popped into my head was...

I totally get that and the charity deal seems a little less to do with alesmith.
Up until the club they announced a little while back I feel they have always avoided the shadier side of this craft boom.

Is imperial coming back this year?

That's a very good question. I would bet yes, but can't say I have heard anything. Although my time inside the tasting room has been seriously lacking as of late. Been trying to drink down my surplus before the better half gets even more pissed.

I’m so confused. From SD tribune, GF & Alpine will “continue to operate” but both will also “be dissolved.” So, are they dead or not? SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!

Maybe this is one of the many ****** episodes of Gotham where a villain fake dies but gets resurrected again.

Why is this so difficult? Those companies no longer exist. They're now under WC IPA LLC. It's business as usual.

So the company is dead, but the brand and facilities are alive? I’m not a business person, so this is all mumbo jumbo to me.

I used to go to OAW most Fridays back in the day since it was close and I didn't like Green Flash's beers at the time. There were not a lot of options.
