We opened a 009 at the last BnV share. Leather, tobacco, tannins... I like that thing. There really isn't anything quite like it.

If anybody wants to get rid of their stash let me know.

Next time I go to my cage, I'll grab my two bottles, then come by your store and you can give me fresh IPAs for them.Yup, I'm a big fan of it too.

Seems like AleSmith and Karl Strauss are the only big breweries in town that aren't just cranking out 20 IPAs for their core and rotating beers.
What are the PPs total. Or would they not count because the are spread out?
Fathom was a unique, delicious offering when it came out. I came the first time I was able to buy a keg of it. Why change a recipe to a completely different style?Anyone else read whoever does Ballast Point's FB posts respond to multiple people in their Fathom IPA post? On one hand I give them credit for trying to engage with their customers/haters, but it was pretty funny reading multiple variations of:
Follower: "I loved Fathom IPL. Why are you making it an IPA?"
BP: "We're going to keep brewing our IPL but we'll give it a new name."
Follower: "How does that make sense?"
and
Follower: "If this costs more than $9.99 a six-pack I will buy Firestone Walker IPAs instead."
BP: "MSRP is $10.99."

Lagers take up too much tank time for them to be as profitable as switching to ale yeast and keep the same packaging.Fathom was a unique, delicious offering when it came out. I came the first time I was able to buy a keg of it. Why change a recipe to a completely different style?
Thanks but i was more curious about production numbers. With the numerous locations they pump through styles...but definitely have a slew of ipas
Yeah they have a ton IPAs but you can always find other styles on their board. But I didn't think they are big enough to be in the group I was talking about. Perhaps they are now with the size of Bressi now.
Also look at Rip Current. Paul & Guy have a wide variety of styles being brewed.Seems like AleSmith and Karl Strauss are the only big breweries in town that aren't just cranking out 20 IPAs for their core and rotating beers.
I feel like Rip Current is a super underrated brewery, not sure why they don't get more love. Tons of styles always available and always well represented. Very reasonably priced growler fills (including a buy six get one half off punch card deal), easy in and out location in NP... they've got berliners/kettle sours, pale ales, all levels of IPA, pastry stouts and non, and occasional BA releases. Also look at Rip Current. Great beers & no slick marketing. I love it.I feel like Rip Current is a super underrated brewery, not sure why they don't get more love. Tons of styles always available and always well represented. I need to give them another look. I stop by once a year, have fun, but never put them in my rotation/top 5.Rip Current is quietly the most consistent of the "newer" breweries making it big. Those Java Storm cans are straight up dangerous - and do we really need to say any more about BA Black Lagoon?
That Doppelbock they had last year that won gold at GABF was incredible too.
The beer’s aging process in Portuguese port barrels added notes of raisin and plum, as well as wine-like tannins.
Aw here it goes

This part concerns me however
Would love to get some tasting notes from any Alesmith insiders when available. Has me nervous.
Is this finally happening? This would have me more worked up over any new brewery or even beer being produced.CheeseSmith though....
