And by that, he means, a Fermentorium in Portland, not just distro.

Pretty crazy, but after all this I'm inclined to wonder if they're getting a little ahead of themselves.

EDIT: Oh wow, they're taking over the current space occupied by The Commons too.

Yeah, I think because they are taking over The Commons, it's way less of a (financial) risk.

That's 4 expansions currently in the works, right?

To their credit, it appears that the infection issues have largely disappeared this year, so the operations side hasn't been as impacted as I would have guessed.

Yeah,
Portland - has space leased
LA - seems to be chugging along just fine
Anaheim - haven't heard much, but no news is good news imo
Encinitas - man......**** that city, like for realsies

I thought Encinitas was in wait-and-see mode, did someone object? I haven't been paying a ton of attention though.

I haven't gotten any mail at my parent's house yet of another hearing, but after talking with some residents that attended the last meeting (league members weren't requested to assemble for that one) they told me that it was not good and that I should prepare to make an evening journey with league friends and prepare to speak in favor of MT (I don't like to do public speaking).

With the crowd at the planning commission and what I overhear from outside as I sit at EncinitasAleHouse, I am guessing there will be an appeal...pretty much 100% guarantee it.

For some reason I thought there was something happening in Pasadena, but i might be getting my wires crossed with the Stone Store.

I do enjoy that each of these locations seems to have some appeal other than "we sell Modern Times."

I don't know; I think I'm just not used to seeing smaller breweries actually take a strategic approach to growth and brand management.

I'd recommend getting belligerently drunk beforehand and channeling your favorite professional wrestler to deliver an impassioned speech. It might not reflect well on Modern Times but it will make public speaking considerably easier.

It's so hot I only want Mexican lager

Nah, #BiL all days of the year when you got AC. Working through the Firestone releases. Helldorado is, no surprise, yummy.

Oh damn, I thought The Commons were looking for another space, but it looks like they're just outright closing. Bummer.

Sad, I really enjoyed thaf brewery. On the plus side, can do back-to-back Modem Tomes & Hair of the Dog! Get drunk on BA Monsters Park and order Dave down the street.

You guys talk up Nicene, went in an blew my wad.

If they can't get Encinitas that will really limit my MT budget next year

Thanks for posting that, I wondered where they were moving to. Really too bad.
I've always been a bigger fan of The Commons location & actual facility than any beer they've brewed. Smart acquisition for MT.
Went to PDX once a couple of years ago. Wife let me hit three breweries and I did them because they were open before cascade. The guy at the bar was really great to talk to and they had a dry-hopped Myrtle that I had a little too much of! MT in that space really is a perfect match.

Hey all,
Anyone here in one of the Bruery societies for next year? Finally giving up my Hoarders membership, but a trading partner is taking it on and I'm trying to find an SD trustee for him so I can buy an occasional extra from his allocation. Hit me up if you can help.

Thanks!

Holy ****, that might have been the worst night of sleep for us in a while. It actually felt like it got hotter at 3 or 4 in the morning.

In MiraMesa it actually did get hotter starting at 11pm. I was not a fan.

Edit: Mikkeller's Passion Pool release that they did this weekend really hits the spot though.
