Monkish ran out fast, but I'm still not sure how Mikkeller blew four kegs. Who the **** is lining up for that?
Stooooooopid
Literally went to the tent next to Monkish and had a good beer from some brewery in New Orleans, courtyard brewing. There was no reason to be standing in line at all!

I stood in line for Alvarado St. I whole 6 or 7 ppl in front of me.....otherwise, nothing, not even Monkish had a line when VIP first started. Grabbed 2 pours quickly as I was watching the masses beginning to make their way down.

As for Mikkeller, Stiggy Puddin, Trveblood, Raspberry Blush, and (I think) Windy Hill. That **** goes super fast in the tasting room, so it wasn't really a surprise at the festival.

Ha! I didn't even touch Monk during VIP. There was a line during VIP, but not as big as the gen session. All the Alvarado! They were the funnest tent there

I waited in a few lines but they always moved fast enough that I had to kind of rush drinking my cup so it would be empty by the time I got to the front.

Also, you know the beer scene has changed when you go to a festival and there's no line at the Russian River tent, and they misspell Pliny (as Pliney) on their own tent...

Jake break was phenomenal

I had that volunteer access, so was kicked out by Derek to go wait in the VIP line and get checked in, then was told to skip the line and walk back in. Was drinking Burning Beard and the league-only pours well before it started. Then just floated near Monkish until the clock ticked to 2pm and grabbed the Amigas y Amigos sour. I might not like Monkish's IPAs all that much, but his sours are damn delicious.

It sucks that there's been less sours released this year :(

Well ****, I'm getting my batches confused. I meant the one before the most recent one, which I think was kinda garbage. The last batch to be in 16oz bottles.

My understanding is:

B1 - 2005, 12.7 oz bottle with gold foil
B2 - 2009, 12 oz bottle and caps without a dimple
B3 - 2013, 12 oz bottle and caps with a dimple
B4 - 2015, 16.9 oz bottle corked and caged

I tried B1 fairly recently and it was over the hill (showing signs of oxidation). I haven't had B2 in awhile but it was basically like caramel toffee candy (in a good way). B3 is the GOAT, still amazing. I'm hoping B4 mellows out over time.

Yeah, I was referring to 2013, b3. Definitely the GOAT, and Rip Current is sniffing at that level of excellence.

LOL Kern Citra on at CH's and Citra Showers and I've determined Citra Showers is better. Way better

Citra hasn't been the same since they started on the new system. Last batch was pretty bad.

The last batch in 16oz was b1. 500ml. 2009 and 2013 were 12oz.

Kern River Citra was all the rage in 2011, there have been plenty of better examples of a citra based double IPA since minus the false scarcity.
