I was at the Belly Up last night to see IDLES, who were killer, and had a GF WCIPA for the first time in years and the first time since they said they went back to the original recipe. With the caveat that beer tends to taste better when I'm watching a great band, the WCIPA was surprisingly good and did give me some late 2000s flashbacks. So I had another.
Make WCIPA A Thing Again

Depends on the band and the acoustics for me. I've heard good bands play in a venue not intended for music sounds like garbage. Then others where it set a good tone for just hanging out and enjoying the evening
I think it's more like, I go to a brewery to drink some beers, maybe have a conversation. Not listen to a deafening band

but that's me

I did a walk-about this past weekend for a friend's birthday. Finally lifted my personal ban on going to The Friendly and the burger was decent. Nothing spectacular but decent. Had some Melvin ipa here. Hit up Belching Beaver and had their sour #9. Was about as close as any san diego brewery has gotten to tasting like Atrial Rubicite. Then Rip Current for some Hazardous Hazelnut (been years since I drank one of these at either of their locations). And then finished up at Toro with a Blind Pig...because why not. Some friends kept the party going, but I was done for the day here...since I still needed to be productive.

Batch 9 is cherry though ;)

I thought that Modern Times/Jester King raspberry collab was pretty damned close, but that's half-cheating I guess.

Also wow, bold praise. I haven't bought a sour since Fantasia, but now I'm heavily considering it.

Stopped by 13 point brewery had one of their IPAs doesnt matter which one, drink what you like. Beer was clean didnt taste any imperfections ABV 7.2 had a quick chat with the brewer over all it was F-ing delightful. I would reccomend heading out there trying one out.

That would be nice. Did you hear that somewhere or just guessing that them signing with a distributor means they'll distribute more than kegs (and feral bottles)?
Yeah, I don't see that news anywhere.

And that shiny-ass distro video with the super-basic branding really annoyed me. #GetOffMyLawn

So Societe is going to start canning?

Doug says around the 3:15 mark of the video that the goal is to start canning.

Interesting choice to sign with a distribution company started by one of St Archer's founders.

Is this is the same vid that they posted on IG? I thought it only went for like a minute. Having to sit through that for longer sounds unbearable.

If the opposite of selling out is no cans of Pupil and The Heiress then I’m ok with it.

Good article on this. I think it might have been relevant to mention Scout's roots in relation to Harland and Saint Archer though. Just for full disclosure and extra context.

Was there an article about this on Full Pint? I only see a press release.
