Anyone interested in going to Saturday's Horus Hootenanny, I have a VIP ticket that I unfortunately need to unload. Hit me up via DM.

Gravity Heights officially opens today. I still need to check the place out but it looks amazing.

Shoot me a msg if ur heading to Gravity Heights anytime soon, would love to hook up some beers for TBers. I imagine I’ll be popping in and out most evenings and weekends for a while.

We have 13 house beers and 4 collabs on as of today, come check us out!

I will definitely be back some point soon for some more of that SMS and the Brewers Best Bitter. Thanks again for the soft open invite!

So checked out Gravity Heights yesterday around 3pm, apparently it was happy hour, who knew?

Anyways, I will return since I didn't try all of the house beers so there is that.

Breakfast stout and the porter stood out the most to me. Nice roast on both. There was listed a flavor of caramel on the porter but I could never find it...which means I have to try it again to find that flavor. The GH/Eppig collab was also very delicious but not included in happy hour prices.

The build out was quite nice, I enjoyed the decor in the bar area. The power plugs were nice since I had to walk around with my work stuff just in case **** hit the fan and I needed to work. Better half was sad there were no purse/bag hooks.

The chairs at the bar were comfy but I definitely enjoyed those plastic roped chairs that were in the smaller sections around the bar. Someone said I was basically sitting in a purple avocado....I was less then thrilled when it legit did look like a split avocado...but whatever, it was comfy.

One beer I did not enjoy was the Kolsch, this upset me. It tasted more like a citrus shanty than a kolsch. I could see this as being good for summer months and those that come from Stella. I would rather have drank the Kolsch from Pure Project than this. Blasphemy I know, but I was a tad disappointed.

I didn't order any food but the better half did. She greatly enjoyed the white pizza.

Overall I would give it a 3 out of 5. Points removed since I did not try the entire lineup (my fault), prices were definitely higher than normal....I mean the GH/Eppig collab was $8.5 for a 16oz for a lager (I think it was a lager...but either way that was pricey). Food was not cheap. But the pricing I expected it due to the location and the clientele they are likely catering to. I also removed a half point because upon arriving and sitting at the bar, directly in front of 2 servers, we were passed on by for 6 minutes to take orders of others that had been sitting there (understandable) and orders for newcomers that sat down next to us (unacceptable). I had this weird feeling I was invisible since the same thing happened earlier at Modern Times where I sat at the bar for 15minutes after opening (was there since 10am) and was ignored....but that is another issue unrelated to Gravity Heights.

I'm late, but I enjoyed the Horus Hootenanny. They were pouring some legit whales and lots of breweries that never make it down here.

This is my last week of funemployment, so I will probably hit up Gravity Heights at some point. Kairoa opens tomorrow as well, so I'll try and stop by.

Congrats on the job! Sticking around town?

Just passed Kairoa while picking up a Bahn Thai order last weekend. That place is freaking huge - almost suspiciously so. Where are these out-of-nowhere breweries getting funding?

Yep. Will be in La Jolla. I foresee a lot of Mosaic getting drank.
Good for you man, glad that drive will be a thing of the past for you.

Also, such an underappreciated beer! I took the family out of the way Saturday night to have dinner at KS Carlsbad and put two pints of it down before I realized I was finishing my second.

I need to drop off beers for the AFC competition at AleSmith after work. What's new there sdreaper ? Also what are good food options that are still open in the evening around there?

TBH, I haven't been there in a couple weeks. Personal life got in the way and then I began (...again) drinking through my current stash to make room for more upcoming releases.

They keep their menus up to date on their website and I believe that is all tied into untappd.

As for food, it really depends on what you are in the mood for. Plenty of fast food places if you feel like that, otherwise Rigoberto's is 24/7, Stars&Stripes is until 10pm (might be 9pm, I honestly have forgotten), Supernatural until 8pm, Chung-Hing until 730 (#1 with 50/50 rice and low mein...cash-only), Pho 46 (closer to I-15), and Sarap (filipino food). A few Indian places, closer to I-15, but I don't recall those names since I am not a big fan of that food.

According to their calendar, the food truck today is Eat Your Heart Out, but it leaves at 8pm....earlier if they run out of grub.

Edit: As for new beers, Momma Annie's LXXV (Belgian dubbel), and Clean Up Set (PP collab) are on as of yesterday.
