Fairweather is cool too. Nice view into Petco Park.

I feel like I’ve not appreciated Bali Hai enough as well. Maybe not as good as False Idol, but far cheaper & an amazing view of the bay. Plus, its great pitstop right before an old people concert at Humphreys by the Bay.
Fairweather is trash since CH sold them off. So bad.

Bali Hai used to be pretty legit until they underwent their million dollar Bro Remodel and I guess it's not the same. Used to be my hangout on Tuesday night back in the early 00's. Fairly dead so a chance to talk about rum and meet some crazy ass boat people who sailed in. Can't wait to hit False Idol.

I don't really go there because the drinks are amazing. It's mostly just fun to have a literal glass full of rum, aka "Bali Hai Mai Tai." That being said, the Tiki Oasis and Tiki Trader events there are lots of fun. Food is average to good.

The drinks at False Idol basically **** on everything "tiki" in San Diego. It's not even close.

Grass Skirt is "bro" tiki with absurdly expensive food. I like their decor though.

Cat Eye drinks are average to good... I do like ordering "Goonies Never Say Die" because reasons. The decor is severely lacking.

I loved Grass Skirt when I went. Got a bar seat with the lady. Bartender was awesome. Attentive and engaging. Mixed us up some killer rounds based on conversations about what we like and don't.

If you are a cantankerous British hermit who has somehow grown a following of predominately white upper middle class males with too much free time, then maybe?

So. Asking for a friend

Was this meant to be funny?

Or was this just a damn awful post?

I guess ‘both’ is an option for you.

Wow. I got nothing.

Okay, maybe its easier for some to spill the beans on, what lawsuit is Blair involved in?

I can’t recall, did he sell all his stake in Monkey Paw or just some to Coronado? Just wondering how the story all fits together.

From the West Coaster:
On April 25, 2018, Monkey Paw founder Scot Blair filed a breach of contract/warranty lawsuit against the company, alleging that he is owed $33,534.00, plus interest, from a “written promissory note” on or about September 1, 2017.

I don't get selling off the location. With the population explosion east village is under going and based on plans for how many more thousands of people that will be crammed into downtown, seems like the location is gold.

I wonder if there are issues with the landlord/rent. I know licenses are all being contested so expansions for breweries are difficult. Something is just odd.

Green Flush hires an InBev lackey as CEO.

According to the Peter Rowe story, they're going to keep Hinkley as the face of the brewery and use him in marketing campaigns.

Instead, Taylor said, local beer fans should look for a stronger Green Flash, with a marketing campaign led by a familiar face: Hinkley.

“His title will always be ‘founder,’” Taylor said. “He’s going to report to me and be working sales, marketing, all the commercial end of the business.”

Are there still pockets where Hinkley would have positive name/face recognition?

I heard they went to a lot of cool places, but they were't allowed to show any beer that wasn't ABInBev owned. So, I don't know what the hell an entire episode would consist of.
All day at 10 Barrel then?

I also have no idea who those steampunk beekeepers are. I mean, if she's still looking for the best homebrewers, it's pretty easy to find that in San Diego.
